72.6 percent chance we are picking 3, 4 or 5 in this draft. Tanking for a top 5 pick is a strategy. Tanking for Wemby specifically is not a realistic proposition. It might happen, and if it does, great! But it shouldn't be considered a likely outcome.
Maybe he's only doing 500 million? Why do you assume he's bidding as majority owner? He's been a minority owner before.
If they don't get Victor, I do wonder what the trade value is for #2 or whatever they end up with. If Harden is the only significant free agent and he wants to come back, does it make sense to have Scoot too? I fear going Scoot and not spending money will perpetuate the maturity issues we're having. Could there be a star on the market we could snag for someone wanting PG of the future? Scoot, KPJ, Tate, and 2 future #1s for Tatum for example? Harden Green Smith Tatum Sengun Not a bad lineup if you assume Smith and Green develop...
I anticipate Harden wanting out or regrets his decision the minute he thinks this whole mentoring thing is too much for him. He has 3-4 years of good basketball left in him, why spend all of it developing players? I wouldn't bet on it long term.
hey rockets fans, the grass is not greener, and the new shiny toy will fade away fast , it will quickly lose its shine! just like it was the case with jabari and jalen! the great durantesque 7 footer shooting 3s and a new michael jordan! LOL we already have a player BETTER THAN WEMBY!
You talking about Jayson Tatum? Why would Boston whos contending for a title trade their best player?
I agree with your thought process regarding trading the pick if it isnt number 1 but Tatum is not happening. No team will trade their star especially not one as young as Tatum. However could we use that number 2 pick to trade for someone who would work well off of Harden and help with the culture? Someone like Mikal Bridges perhaps.
There's no way Wemba is coming here. The league won't allow it. I say we land on 3 again. I think SA will land him.
No joke: I had a dream last night that we got the #1 pick in the lottery, but I was also diagnosed with terminal cancer and just a few months to live.
The Rockets getting Harden back is a no-brainer for them if he's willing. Unfortunately Harden would have to have no brain to be willing to come back to these Rockets.
How come none of you are replying to hakeem94? It’s like his posts are tumbleweeds blowing down a deserted highway. Interact with him and give your thoughts on his poignant and serious posts Rockets fans.
That's why I think there's a corresponding move for a veteran. He's done just as you are suggesting and wanted out of Brooklyn and wouldn't commit to Philly long term. There needs to be a balance. If they can get someone like a Tatum and still have Green/Jabari/Sengun then I think it's workable. Harden babysitting lotto babies does spell trouble as you suggest, I agree... i think Victor is an exception though.
1) They've done it before 2) If they think they have reached a ceiling 3) If they think Scoot as a PG is a generational talent it could give them a replacement level guy while freeing up cap space Scoot, KPJ, Tate, and a couple of Brooklyn picks is a pretty good offer.... Not saying it's likely, just a possibility...
Let’s be honest for a second because it’s totally fair to say Sengun is also loosing its shine. So far as currently constructed there’s no franchise building block on the roster
