Watson lost to Jacob Coker in the national championship game, Guess Texans should have drafted Coker.
You read it. Coker. I can go on forever with these examples. Point is, the logic of saying one QB is equal to or better than another QB because his team beat the other QB’s team is ridiculous and faulty beyond belief. Many here would love to wait until next year and get Caleb Williams. Williams lost twice this year to Cam Rising. Guess Rising is just as good or better than Williams? If we are going to use this logic, Bennett from Georgia is the obvious choice since he has beaten every QB being mentioned as a first round selection.
Not saying this isn't true because maybe it is (I would disagree with the logic), but it's smokescreen season. If I'm the Texans, I'm staying away from quarterbacks from now until the draft. I'd talk to the top 4 once each and be done. They have to convince anyone that will listen that they don't want a quarterback in order to degrade as much of the Bears' leverage as possible.
Not to dog on this list (I get why they do it), but arm strength is like 1/15th of the equation of a quarterback's development once they hit the requisite level.
Lol we need to stop quoting 33rd team. They have put out SO MANY different opinions the past few weeks, basically changing multiple times a week. Just trying to get people to follow them via their graphics.
This would validate what I've been saying for a long time now. Demeco and Caserio both know that the quickest way to get fired is to have a rookie QB playing... And since there's no franchise-worthy QB in this year's draft class, it doesn't make sense to burn endure another brutal season to coach up a QB that will never lead us to the promised land. Year 3 Davis Mills is better than Year 1 Young/Stroud/Levis. And there are numerous free agent QB options available. We need to build a winning culture ASAP. Draft best player available, build the fortress of talent, and then plug-and-play with the QB. That's the 49ers formula! And it was the Patriots formula when they drafted Tom Brady in the 6th!
You know the 49ers traded multiple first round picks to move up for Trey Lance right? Shanahan is a really good coach that they were able to plug and play Purdy. But that was hardly the formula they were planning for.
This really comes down to , do you like this years QB class better than next years class? I'm hoping they sign a vet then draft a QB in 2024.
Problem is drafting a QB early is always a crap shoot. No guarantees next years class will pan out any better.
