ESPN's Jonathan Givony would cut KPJ, says Rockets locker room/culture is bad

I don’t quite share this guy’s optimism. A new coach, cutting KPJ, and moving Green as a 6th man may all have merit, but don’t guarantee improvement. The organization has been destroyed by incompetence, there is no quick fix. It’s going to be a looooong climb back to respectability. Many, many steps and years.

 

What this guy is saying is basically what the intelligent people on this board have been saying for a while.

The likes of maj21, bobbythesmall and DD, on the other hand...

There is a strong correlation between being a Sengun hater, being a KPJ stan, and being an idiot.

 

I’m not sure how cutting KPJ would fix anything, I’m all for a new GM, Coach, PG, but KPJ and Alpi have been the best players this year. Culture starts at the top, KPJ should be 6 man but he’s way too good to cut. This Givony guys can go fly a kite.

 

Kpj shouldn't b playing pg or even pretend to b one. The stupid experiment has hindered everybody else development long enough. We need to draft one or sign one via free agency.

 

His play on the court blows, but the even more dangerous thing is the off the court stuff.

I suspect more will come out, eventually.

i agree, but he could thrive in a Jamal Crawford type role off the bench, it would be foolish to cut a guy with his talent. I never listen to the national media about the Rockets, they are so too busy licking GS and Lakers boots to be taken seriously.

 

I hate that it appears to be coming to this. KPJ, if he were to pan out, would have been such a boon for the organization. A 22 year old poor man's James Harden under team control on a team friendly contract would have made the rebuild go so much easier and faster. Alas, it doesn't seem to be in the cards. Perhaps cutting KPJ is the answer. Such a move might drastically improve the team I guess. It definitely makes acquiring Harden or Vanvleet a necessity in my opinion.

I love how KPJ is catching strays. He hasn't played in over a month. We still suck just as much if not more.

 

He's the worst of the worst. You just can't stop locking on to stupid takes and holding on to them, can you?

 

I can be convinced all the soup throwing, leaving at half-time can be left behind but dude is constantly pouting, not running back, quitting in the middle of a play... these are very serious problems even if he had nothing off the court.

 

Best solution is to pawn KPJ onto the Spurs next season to slow their development.

 

He's not a good guy. He's a grudge-bearing coward.

 

Our fake GM needs a yes-man, not a head coach.
He won't find one.

 

Need to see what happens with the draft first.
