There are (4) #1 Seeds. As of now Alabama and UH are assured to get two of those and Purdue will get one, the other #1 Seed is open.
I just love Roberts, he works so hard. Great game by the Coogs. Although, they still need to work on that "killer" instinct. When you get a team down, break their will. Not always easy to do. In the first half, UH played some of the best defense I have seen in college ball. Memphis is really tough; I think they are a NCAA tournament team.
23-26 Best free throws by us since I don't know when. Definitely not our A game but any win against Memphis is enjoyable. On to next game against Tulane to close out the conference.
We shot terrible from three point land 17% still won the game. Great defense and finally clutch free throws minus 1 from Mark.
I was referring to the #1 overall seed, because that team gets to pick their desired location for the first week (rounds 1 and 2). For Alabama, that would be a huge benefit to pick Birmingham, which is less than 1 hour away from their home court. Here are the first week locations: Birmingham, AL Des Moines, IA Orlando, FL Sacramento, CA Albany, NY Columbus, OH Denver, CO Greensboro, NC What would UH pick? Would we try to screw Alabama and go there? It's also the closest place to Houston on that list. Denver ain't too far either.
No thanks on Denver. No need to deal with altitude. I'll be hoping Birmingham since I am reasonable drive from there. I'd get to seek them start the tourney and hopefully finish the tourney. A man can dream.
You don’t know what elite defense is until you play UH. Not another team in the nation can emulate it
You can see teams just jarred by it when the games start. It takes them most of the first half just getting used to the intensity. Tulane looked ready to quit at about minute 6.
I can't view the game, don't have ESPNU, but I have been following on Yahoo Sports. The UH defense is elite. It is hard to maintain consistency throughout, but when they turn on the pressure, they can lock most teams down.
