He is a modern day Robert Horry - who lost his confidence and had to be traded before he would shoot.

Jabari is lacking in confidence - he just needs to let it fly and not worry about results....he will come around.

Agree on the confidence part. Sometimes when he just lets it go, it looks very pure. I also was a fan early in the season when he would bring the ball up and step in to the three.

A lot going on with Jabari. Lack of physical development obviously is a thing. Skill set is a thing also. That being said, I personally see a lot of good things from him. I like his rebounding and actually think he is a pretty good passer. I like the jumper. I think it is uncalibrated because of the physical rigors of NBA season and nerves.

my thought process at this point is that one of Jalen, Jabari or Alpi will turn into a star. Jabari obviously has a way higher floor. I think the odds are highest for Alpi.

Jabari has to become a great shooter. That’s the number one reason we drafted his ass 3rd lol

When Robert Horry was young he could elevate and throw down mean ass dunks - I wish Smith would do that

Nothing about his game resembles Horry.

So some people had Ivey over Jabari. Who else was over Jabari? He was seen as BPA by a mile and only 1 other guy was seen as might be over him by a small subset of people and that dude is 2 yrs older. Check what "by a mile" means it doesnt mean every single person in the world thought Jabari was BPA.

There were some concerns over Jabari just like every prospect has concerns. People were saying Banchero gonna struggle in thr pros without a 3 and would be bad on defense. Of course yiu are gonna fall in love with what he could be, kid's 19 yr old for a reason. Why would you focus on now with a kid who is only 19? You realize Giannis played like ass when he was 19 right? If you wanna compare Ivey to Jabari then wait 2 yrs first and then compare 2025 Jabari to 2023 Ivey.

Jabari has def underwhelmed but at only 19 yrs old he has all the time in the world to get better. Its funny you are talking about Giddey took one step in SL and broke his leg. Thats a lot worse of a rookie year than Jabari but look at him now. Closing the book on someone not even 1 yr into his career is dumb AF.

All he has to do is start nailing his open 3pt shots and continue to sharpen his finishing/driving skills. That would lift his 3pt%, FG% and his net impact on the floor tremendously. He's doing everything else perfectly fine. His defense is improving rapidly, he's already going to be a beast by next season so I really want to see his shooting catch up.

You must be high, his defensive game resembles Horry, his 3pt shooting resembles Horry, his lack of dribbling resembles Horry, they are about the same height.

Come on man - it may not be identical - but that post was just way off.

Sure, BPA by us because the draft-industrial complex sold us this "Big 3" vision, which just seems so far from the reality.
Horry was a much more natural finisher underneath. Hopefully Jabari gets here someday.

At this point, Bari becoming as good as Will Smith aka Big Shot Bob would be a great outcome. But Big Shot Bob had balls of steel and was a real winner. I hope Bari gets there.

I am super happy with Smith over Ivey. I think that you know what Ivey is going to be and that’s a nice little player but eh.

I think all of these guys have a chance to look a whole lot better next season with 30 more games of experience and a new coach, culture and some vets.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Robert Horry spent 4 years in college before getting drafted a little before his 22nd birthday. He was 24 when the Rockets won their first championship.

I'm not comparing Smith and Horry in terms of style of play. But whatever Smith turns out to be (and I think he could be very good), he's going to need a few more years to figure it out.

I think it's a closer comparison to say Eason has a game like Horry than Jabari.

That's why he said "modern day" Robert Horry, you see -- the game has changed. :D

If you took Robert Horry and put him in the modern age, he'd marvel at the fact that we all carry supercomputers and tv sets in our pockets with access to every book and piece of media ever created, yet use them to watch pr0n, huff conspiracy theories, and yell at each other.
