Nobody bothers me on airplanes. I have a drink, throw in my earbuds, and am oblivious to the world around me until it is time to land. More importantly, I can choose to do business with them or not if that is an important issue to me. I can choose to fly airlines that charge for checked bags or not. I can choose to fly airlines with assigned seating or not. Those are all free choices between me and the airline. I see no reason why Washington needs to be involved in those decisions. Threatening to make a rule is only slightly better than making a rule, especially if there is an intent to carry out the threat. If United wants to change their own policy, great. They shouldn't be extorted into doing so.

I have reconsidered my stance on Biden just based on all the policy that he has been able to pass and the wins democrats have enjoyed while under his leadership. Call it a byproduct of independents and moderate republicans rejecting Trumpism and the idiotic culture wars started by the republicans, but I sure am liking the results. I really do wish for younger candidate to come around and take the mantle, but yeah, Biden has been doing good things overall so seems like we should just keep on winning. I'm really curious how debt ceiling negotiations will ultimately go with House republicans, huge test on how he can avoid a government shutdown and the government defaulting on debt.
