if we're going to cry over spilled milk let's cry about how Tilman Fertitta acquired a team that went to the WCF and then consistently screwed it to the point where Sengun fans are the new Jeremy Lin fans on a team that's 13-45.
just more excuses for intentional losing and nepotism...when we put ball in senguns hands AT THE RIGHT PLACES the system works...the problem is they refuse to play through sengun... sengun should bring up the ball every time before others just chuck a bad 3 pointer or make a turnover or aimlessly pass ball around...
Well, you set up that statement to allow for literally no other examples - but to name some guys who were towards the bottom of the league for many years who have emerged as stars, Giannis, Embiid and Booker come to mind. Hell, the Warriors sucked for years when Curry joined them.
So you think Silas is being intentionally incompetent? You think Jalen is out there missing shots on purpose? Jabari missing shots on purpose too? Rockets players throwing it to other teams on purpose? Yeah the GM can do thing like trade away all the vets. Keep a bad coach in place. Request that the coach play certain player for “development”. But then that still means the people in charge of the actual product on game day are subpar which is the point of this thread. You don’t think Utah intended to be terrible this year? The magic? You think the Thunder wouldn’t like a chance at Wemby? You guys think that the Rockets are so brilliant that they just tank the best? What is more likely? That the Rockets are so brilliant that they’ve ranked the best by being the worst team in the league going on three years now….or they actually just suck?
They swarm Green when he gets the ball and drives into the paint. The opponents swarm Sengun when he gets the ball in the paint and starts his move. Just watch.
They do the opposite when Sengun has the ball. They know how inept the other Rockets players are. Green is swarmed because he drives into the paint regardless of how he is defended and only passes the ball, most of the time only when he is in trouble. Watch the game closely and you will see what I mean. Watch how the defense reacts every time the Rockets are in the offense and do not focus on the highlights.
I definitely do not only watch highlights to the detriment of my personal time unfortunately. This team has horrible spacing and Green does drive to the rim a lot with a lot of traffic... That's because the personel around him including Sengun are the opposite of floor spacers. Watch when guys like Giddey on the Thunder dribble drive. They literally have to just beat one man and have a clean look at the rim with their five our offense they often play. It's because the paint traffic is like a rural back country round while with the Rockers paint traffic is equivalent to 59 and 610 exchange during rush hour. And sorry, Sengun is a large reason for that.
The main reason our lane is clogged is we have NO ONE that is a good and consistent 3 point shooter. Sengun only has responsibility for any part of it, because he isn’t a 3 pt shooter either. Jalen Green and Jabari are the 2 main problems with our spacing, because their jobs are to knock down open 3’s and neither is doing it. If Jalen can ever get his 3 point shot around 36-38 on high volume the spacing will magically improve. Same with Jabari. Our half court offense will improve immensely if those 2 become good 3 point shooters and KPJ doesn’t dribble the air out of the ball. Unfortunately our one pretty consistent 3 pt shooter is being played out of position.
NBA defenders don't defend off percentages. They defend based on comfort level of a player taking a shot. Defenders don't sag off Green at the perimeter. The fact that Green constantly gets trapped or doubled after a pnr screen regardless of who the screener is should say this. Defenders know guys like Jabari and Green who have confidence in their shot will get hot if they see their first couple go in. Green takes a lot of bad threes but defenders know he's very capable of making like 6 threes in a row and don't want someone like that to be comfortable freely taking those shots Sengun out of the starting line up is the most responsible for the lack of spacing because out of everyone in the starting line up, defenders know the guy isn't going to "get hot" and make like 4 threes in a row of you give them consistent space there. He's hesitant to take wide open ones. That means teams have zero concerns that Sengun potentially can go on fire from there. If you are hesitant to just attempt wide open ones you are a zero threat to get hot from there. Everyone else in the starting line up including KMJ and Tate are not hesitant to take the wide open three. That means those defenses know that those two have somewhat of a chance to get hot that particular night of you just completely ignore them from out there.
Can you quote anybody who actually attacked Sengun? It's his SOF who are trying to divide the team internally and throws shade at everybody else. Bruno Fernando is gone now so I guess the new targets are Green and Jabari? Sof posters here like Sengoat arent Sengun and dont represent Sengun lmao. You think attacking Sengoat poster who made a thread quoting some random nobody is the same as attacking Sengun himself? All y'all SOF need to get a life.
People thought about harden in his prime he was an iso player who never get a ring thats what happened in the end never performed in playoffs only regular season. There are 2 super stars types. 1) regular performer ( harden) then 2) regular abd playoffs performer who git huge impact and carry the team also in playoffs( mj, lebron, luka) In the Future sengun as well
I just don't see the same upside with Green as I do with Sengun. It's hard to find a big man with his passing ability and all round game. Green has to do more than just be a scorer. His frame and performance hasn't shown much defensively... I would grade him incomplete with 50-50 odds of being on the team in 3 years.
These are always my favorite posts - when someone who says something so dumb that is so easily fact checked because it’s more important to say what your thinking than to bother with whether there is some truth to it. I’ll spare your laziness the theatrics but Giannis, Embid, Jokic, Morant, Durant, and Luka all played on teams that lost nearly 50 games to start their careers. Giannis and Durant even played on teams as bad if not worse than our team! That’s not to say this Houston team isn’t a hot mess or that Green is going to be like them - but it’s to say you should at least try to fact check yourself if you are going to make such bold statements. Dumb hot takes waste everyone’s time - even yours!
