Agree to disagree. I think any eye tests shows all our team is bad defensively and the eye test to me says KPj (as Silas pg project) is worse than Jalen's inconsistency that i absolutely expected from such an immature body-likewise Jabari. I think relying on analytics on a deliberately tanking team with no real coaching/strategy is the wrong way to look for a bright spot.
If we drafted Cade and he's our 3, absolutely i'd rock with KPj at the 2 and hope for the best. Unfortunately Jalen/KP are both 2's and one is a coveted high value young player that can still get you a top pick in this draft based on his potential and his explosive big scoring nights. You want to take that, train that, mold that into consistency while his body starts to mature and you're looking at the end results with high hopes.
The other may get you a 2nd round pick. A late 1st at best. Not because he sucks, but because he is closer to what he is and will always be and there's no more potential to envision with him. He's closing in on 23 years old with a history of issues and his body has always been matured. There's nothing to hope for other than he can maintain what he currently is on a playoff team and that guy is going to need the ball and he's going to turn it over more than a rookie who has never been asked to create and be a primary ball handler in his life.
I mean Jalen and Jabari can completely blossom still JUST by maturing their bodies alone. Both of them would still command high value right now.

I think if any team is in rebuild mode, they all would badly want Jalen as part of that rebuild and wouldn't even look KPj's way. I honestly believe KPj won't even be on the Rockets much longer. I hope he is and succeeds, but i even think there's a good chance he's not even in the NBA when Jalen is hitting his prime due to non basketball reasons. I hope he sticks around and succeeds, truly. I just don't see it in Rockets uniform.

So let's save receipts and we'll reconvene in a few years.

You do realise Green isn't the only high draft pick in history given the keys to the kingdom in his rookie and sophomore years, right? Very few of them have put up the big numbers Green has, and that's whilst he's inefficient. If he gets efficient and consistent, he won't have the same or similar numbers, they'll go up massively. Now if you're already scoring above average and having way more huge games than anybody else your age, and you increase your numbers, what happens do you think?

yeah, I get it, I also had higher hopes for KPJ, he’s stagnating for sure.
but my point is that with our salary cap and our dearth of talent the opportunity cost is zero.

Having an average PG is, believe it or not, one of the brighter points for our sorry state.
For example, I think KPJ is absolutely no worse than Fultz in ORL. I also think Sengun is no worse than Banchero. Had we taken Wagner instead of Green our future would have looked much brighter, similar to where ORL is now… KPJ is not the problem here.

KPJ is NOT mentally stable. LOL

    Lately not physically stable either

That’s not good for a wannabe head honcho

That would be fun. Draymond could be the veteran needed to teach by example.

So where he is currently is his peak?
He is never going to get much better?
Not going to become more efficient, more consistent, improve on defense?
Not going to fill out physically over time making him an extraordinary mix of speed, strength and fast twitch explosiveness?
He is never going to experience playing under tutelage of a REAL NBA coach and quality veteran-player-leadership?

    Cool.

I’m not a KPJ hater, but current Fultz is a much better PG than KPJ. Fultz has actually turned into a really good player, he’s a legit good floor general, passer, defender, finisher, and even FT shooter. Just can’t shoot threes. Would love to have him on this team.

It's easy to win arguments when you beat up strawmen. People when discussing how good he is are discussing his talent and production in context to his age, experience and situation around him. His highs are really high. He has taken over entire NBA games as a 20 year old. His lows are low though. Part of becoming better are turning the very bad games into mediocre games. That will come with added strength and experience. I say strength because i believe the vast majority of his mistakes on the court have to do with strength. A lot of times plan A backfires for him because a defender outmuscled him off course leading to improvise which leads to a lot of mistakes for young players. Once he adds strength and muscle memory on how to handle 220 lb dudes who can hang with him almost laterally at the perimeter, a lot of his mistakes will decrease. His handle will be a lot more secure from added strength.

    This is all so sad.
CF here like a guy who's girl up and left him a few years ago. In the interim, the guy has become the biggest loser in town. No game left, people making fun of him to his face. Like literally everything but ketchup and mustard all dribbled down his one pair of sweats. People actually cross to the other side of the street to avoid him.

But we're in here talking with him about how his girl is 70% probably coming back this summer, and then all these cool people will want to hang with them both.

Sure, alright, tell me more. SMDH, lulz.
