Maxey is a really good ball player and it will be tough to pay Embid, Harden, and Maxey without unloading Tobias. A lot depends on the playoffs.

Interesting thought but funny because Harden was coddled here and knowing that we don't have a strict culture here......

Philly could create a superteam this summer as well. Tobias becomes an expiring, Maxey and picks could net them a true 3rd superstar.

Draymond can also become a free agent this off-season. Maybe him and James want to team up?

True. If we don't land Wemby or Scoot Rockets might end up paying any middling free agent max.

Anything to not see what the Rockets are putting out there now. We are a laughing stock.

They have only 1 tradable pick, in 2029.

They really have limited options. Best they can hope for is keep their current top 6 guys together and pay a big tax bill, or use their pick to trade Tobias for new rotation players like the Lakers did with Westbrook.

If they don’t do well this postseason I see them resetting completely. Giving Harden a max with no hope of winning a title would be ill advised for them. Harden walks, they dump Tobias, and build with Embiid, Maxey, and cap space next summer.

We’re there to scoop up the pieces. If not Harden, Tobias on an expiring works too.

Personally, I doubt that this Roosh guy knows anything much. And in the twitter-linked Houston Chronicle article, all Feigen says about this topic is below, which is barely a mention about a mention.

A good deal of basketball is to be played for Harden and the 76ers before he gets around to free agency decisions. (He has mentioned a possible return to Houston.)

What is the lure to bring Harden to Houston? Wemby? Friends in the area? The lifestyle and club scene?

On the one hand, he's still a great player. On the other hand, he's not historically been known for leadership, competitive drive, and work ethic... and if we want to win a championship, we'll need these attributes from our veterans.

How long of a contract do we give the aging playboy?

Can he bring Sam Cassell with him?

It's crazy how you can average double digit assists and casuals still call you a ball hog, lol.

If we sign him, he will take away most of Hakeem’s all time Rocket stats making the “The Beard” our goat. (He is close now)

I am a long time fan and this is sacred ground.

Harden's agent was like "since we're going to lie for leverage, which franchise do we not give a sh*t about?"

And they decided, Tilman is their least favorite owner. And they know Morey won't be able to get inside info from that front office. So it's the perfect team to say is interested in Harden's services. All he wants is to opt out and extend with the Sixers.

Please don't fall for this silliness guys. This is a totally made up thing. He doesn't want us and we don't want him. If you're wondering what else we can do with the money, we can just preserve it.

James Harden is my 2nd favorite Rocket of all time and one of my favorite NBA players of all time and this would be a terrible signing for us. You guys must understand the stakes here. If we acquire one max FA who is 100% worth his contract, then we can get a second max FA very very easily. If we get two max fa's worth their entire contract, we will open a 10-year contention window and if our young guys exceed expectations we could have a shot at a dynasty. Prematurely ejaculating away that first max contract destroys our chances at all those things.

Do not go for a tier 2 player and do not go for players whose value you have to rebuild. Do not go for former tier A players who are declining heavily (like Westbrook, Paul, Howard and now Harden) when they want a half a decade long contract. Just wait. It will take longer cause we're not LA, but it will come if we just keep building what we have and making good additions slowly. It's MUUUUUCH better for us to get the FA choice right in 3 years time than it is for us to get the arbitrarily best player this summer.
