Add KJ to that. Can we please stop having our guys in the dunk contest if they're not ready for it...WTF was that?! KJ didn't even do one with a running start, ball in his hands, which is where he shines in game. Ridiculous. Particularly bad because almost all dunks were good on the first attempt for the rest.
Ya Sengun worries me about his ineffectiveness in the Rising Stars game. Green shoes up in the Rising Stars game. Next MJ confirmed.
Not totally but some of them like the Blazers did, fielding only G League players. You could see that on Josh Christopher, he had the best numbers after AS Break. Last year and years before were the reason Silver contemplated relegation of NBA teams seriously.
For every team that was "resting" there were teams fighting for playoff seeding. It's a stupid narrative.
Those blazers lineups still are amazing - no exaggeration that 5 of the 10 guys they were playing didn't make it back to the NBA this year
That would be “half the teams they played” then..as @SamFisher said in the initial post of that conversation. Right?
That would also mean he's ignoring half the narrative to push his narrative. My point is Green's second half rise doesn't have much to do with other teams resting players. The end of the season is also the time when teams care about play off seeding where games against scrub teams matter more than a game against a scrub team in December.
If you want a sincere non narrative based assessment of whether to top 30 or so games of Green's career where he scores 20+ on decent efficiency only comes against teams "not caring" then let's analyze his 30 best games of his career and see who it came against and what players the opposing team rested. If people like sam Fisher want to prove their claim that Green's second half was irrelevant they can put in the work
Ok maybe you're right I don't care enough to dissect it, clearly some of then were. The more important and concerning point is that the Jalen Green we thought we had then didn't really show up this year and may not even exist.
Stop it dude. Jalen Green expanded his usage and increased his ppg average by 5 ppg while dropping in 1% in ts% with added game tape for defenses to analyze and defenses giving him more attention with a more stripped line up that provides less spacing than last season. A player like Wood helps Green's game more than Sengun(Spacing).
Something I learned this year via the Thinking Basketball podcast is that offense, in general, improves in the second half of seasons. So most players do better after the ASB.
Reality is that we ain’t getting The first overall pick and the guys playing in these all-star contests are our future. They are currently being watched by the worst parents on the street who let them out at all hours of the night and don’t discipline them for anything. Every street has a house with kids like that and they never reach their full potential because of it. We are that house.
Decent competition against Play In teams other than one Toronto game when he did score 8 points in the last 7 games. Let's be fair and call it what it was.
No doubt, no doubt. However did you see that shooting drill event with Jabari, Paolo, and (I'm blanking right now)? They almost shot an 0fer. Smith gotta find some NBA range.
The hardest working Jalen Green apologist on CF. It's okay that Jalen Green sucks at basketball because he's only 21 and it's everyone else's fault. Also he's already the greatest player in the history of ever. I wonder how many more years he can keep making these excuses
Yes, when the meaning of games no longer counts towards anything the players play better. No pressure whatsoever. As Kenny Smith said, every team even the awful ones like ours has a leading scorer.
I think you are misunderstanding - I like KPJ but I don't think like he is the bestest dude ever. I just believe that Scoot Henderson is 2 years behind where KPJ is now, and to draft him - and start him would make us worse..... If we draft him he should play behind KPJ and best man plays....if Scoot becomes better or IS better he plays....if not he backups up. I don't know where Henderson ends up in his career, no one does...but coming into the league he looks like an athletic Ish Smith - great vision and handles crappy shot. Just tired of so many people slobbering the knobs of 19 year old kids that aren't ready for the NBA......we have been so excited for our draft picks and both of the high ones so far have been underwhelming for players drafted so high..... The NBA needs a true minor league system. DD
