I notice someone start a thread with content from a random Twitter account saying "if my team drafted Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr back to back I’d stop watching the sport of basketball completely LOL"

and then I realize the Twitter account is possibly a fan of the Knicks.

I ought to put both these clowns on ignore.

You know with the way Houston sports is going, they're all going to catch ebola at a strip club or something.

Well if Green's out too and no EG then surely we'll start seeing "generational franchise player" Sengun dominating at least a couple games right? I mean, he couldn't score more than Green did in 16 mins before he got injured with a lot more time on the court but I'm sure that was an anomoly

1.) Embiid was injured and didnt play (our guys have been healthy and playing for the most part)
2.) The sixers werent the worst team for multiple years in a row

I dont think the Rockets intent was to be THIS bad. I think they wanted to see more growth from Jalen in particular. I also do not believe Silas would willingly tarnish his head coaching resume. And of course, the players are definitely not going to suck on purpose.

I dont know what that means, but if youre trying to say being the worst team in the leagie for multiple years in a row is a part of the plan and all is going swimmingly then i disagree.

I don't think, other than Michael Jordan, anyone can score when you are defended by all of your five opponents. The defensive players just ignore the other players, dare them to shoot from long distance, and just pack the paint to guard Sengun. Even with Green in the lineup you can see how the defenders swarm Sengun when he gets the ball. It was a bit better when EG was here because his three point shooting was respected. The team just doesn't have the long range shooters that will prevent the constant swarming defense in the paint. Couple that with the mediocre player movement then the results are what they are.

Good take. Exhibit A is SGA who was a middling player with the Clippers but is now playing like a superstar with the Thunder. I think it would take a new regime throughout the Rockets organization to get the best out of the talented core of the team right now. Having said that, there's still a long way to go for Green and Jabari to show that they are worth their draft positions. Green is so inept on defense that his inconsistent output is more glaring that it should be. Jabari might be a bit of a headcase but his game should improve if he can check his over-inflated ego and be humble enough to acknowledge that his draft position does not guarantee his place in the NBA long-term. Let's see what a good coach and staff can do for these players.

I absolutely think as soon as Wemby blew up on the scene, we planned to be this bad.

Quite frankly from watching all Rocket games, Green has the most gravity. He provides Sengun a lot of space especially in pnr situations. Defenses often just ignore Sengun at the perimeter and double Green after the screen.

Why didn’t defend our other guys? Why is it okay to attack everyone else?

Lol what? Most of the time in a Pick and Roll the defenders swarm Jalen, not Sengun. They pack the paint because none of our players can shoot for **** and all get their buckets at the rim, why the **** would they all be swarming to stop a guy who's only scored more than 15 points 1 in 5 of his games? (by the way, that's Sengun. Green's the literal opposite, he only scores less than 15 points 1 in 5 of his games.)

People like Jabari they blame the coaches and no point guard. I always hear Green loves to shoot and selfish…showboating

I didn’t read anything after “organization and infrastructure”. Yup, those also suck. So we have bad picks and bad infrastructure. I agree. Jabari and Green could certainly be in better positions if the rockets weren’t so dysfunctional and had such poor leadership, but those players aren’t made franchise players by a better surrounding. They are what they are.

someone on Twitter expressed a random opinion. It aligns with my own overly basic opinion.

rushes to start a Clutchfans thread

btw, correct the title to "how a fan thinks about Green and Jabari"

You could at least show a little more than one Tweet. I am very disappoint.
