Great PR move to immediately shoot the warning shots to Mac that if he goes down this road, he needs to realize he’ll be viewed as a laughing stock like the MyPillow nut. Smart to start levying that comparison and let Mac squirm to separate himself.

Growing up in Houston, Mac is a staple, but now looking back at him all my life I see his schtick for what it is. Help destabilize a community and then come in and act like Robin Hood with making sure Dominique S (huge crush on her) Marvin Zindler, etc. are always right behind him with a camera. The more disarray Houston is in, the more he benefits.

Fairly certain tinny lives in Austin, too. All this b.s. about "Houston" this and "Houston" that...and the dude don't even live here.

Sad that Mac has gone down the idiot rabbit hole of election denialism.

Living in Minnesota I will say that Mack has done a lot more for Houston and Texas than Lindell has for Minnesota.

The problem is with anyone that only chooses to love Mattress because of his support of Houston teams and charity while choosing to ignore his support of MAGA election denial.

Or chooses to not recognize his support of Houston sports teams charity because of his negative MAGA crap. I support weighing one more heavily (especially election denial). But neither erases the other. In high school, I studied and worked hard some of the time and absolutely scammed my way out of assignments other times. I would hate to think that one excused the other or disqualified the other.

    Not much lately.

I know Prince did do charity but I don’t think he was as generous as Mack is especially given how wealthy he was. The biggest thing that Minnesotans loved about Prince was he never quit being a Minnesotan and continued to live and work here.

Has there been any nuanced discussion about Mac's fortune ITT or has it just been partisan poo flinging? Can we get it on that track or is too late? Going to skim a few articles I found:
    https://academic.oup.com/sw/article-abstract/59/2/149/2276180
    https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10875549.2019.1695162

Everyone did it though, meaning many major corporations across multiple sectors of commerce, including rich minorities themselves (like Magic Johnson being the pitchman for tax return services with early pay). Where do you draw the line between freedom and overprotective government? Is there financial ignorance among the poor? Yes. Do corporations take advantage of that ignorance? Yes. Is Mac part of that? Sure, but he is at least selling furniture as part of that package (while doing similar things to payday loan quasi scams). And I'll be damned if I'm going to agree with the parental puritans who do things like blue laws and prevent casinos from being decided by the people. But I can lose a few g's in a casino and my monthly nut is still good. Some only got a few g's to their name and would do the same. It's hard to draw that line from a governmental or even moral standpoint.
