Sengun comes in at #92 on the latest update to the ringers extremely scientific, unbiased and infallible nba player rankings. Only Rockets player ranked.

thank you for the intel but LOL this is extremely biased and shortsighted and this is where people give bad name to analytics..eye/brain test is irreplaceable...theres simply no stat(or perhaps there is?) to account for played being underutilized, held back, maltreated by coach or played out of position...

context rules, stats are wortheless..only blind men and biased hearts need stats

sengun is at least top 30 top... top 50 at worst.... player in nba

being top 90 means there are 3 players on every nba team that are better than sengun LOL and this simply not true...only basketball ignoramuses can think that

I love tate buddy, love him as a player, love him more than 99% of this board and fanbase and would love to keep him around because i value continuity and scrappy players that love to attack the rim, will pass the ball .... but his playmaking and almost everything else is 3 levels below senguns...

lol if you think tate is the best player you really dont know ball lololol or you are not good at defining what the best means?
    eg
you really think going 1 on 1 tate would beat alperen sengun LOLOLOLOL
    bwawahahahahhh

and if its 5 on 5 this is where he really has no chance in hell to contribute more than sengun

his finishing, rebounding, vision, passing, precision, timing, understanding, unselfishness is 7 levels below alperen

he cant even shoot 3 pointers, one of the elements where alpi is not elite(yet) lolololol

so pls enlighten me what criteria you use to determine which player is better?

    perhaps age?

or if contender would trade for a player? LOLOL

this category is specifically invented here by a poster to justify the argument that eric gordon is better than alperen sengun
lolololol no wonder this franchise is a hot mess when the fans are ignoramuses par excellans

not even in alternate universes tate is better than alperen... the rookie sengun is a better player than tate ever was, is and probably( but hopefully not) will ever be...

The difference between a statpadder and MVP. Sengun leads in the categories that matter! LOL

I love that Clutch has left the reminder on the front page of the beginning of the season when our absolute most consistent player was to be coming off the bench for Bruno Fernando who got traded to Atlanta for literally nothing.

Some stats are relevant. PER and +/- are great indicators.

Alpi head and shoulders above the rest on both.

If he were used properly, he would be top 10 in the league in PER now already. As is, he he was like top 25, then Silas stopped playing through him and took his minutes away, now he is 45 in the league or so.

Absolutely, and these stats are why I agree with you on him being the best player on the Rockets. And he's so young and still has miles go go.

    1. i think you might not really really really understand what is a stat and what is an opinion...

    2. thats probably why you say some stats are irrelevant (some that contradict your opinion LOL aka the eye test)...

    3. no stat really ever tells you anything, because the numbers are mute, they literally cant speak, cant sing, they cant tell stories... its always you ( a human) that have to come, point to the stats and say this and that OPINION on the stat or about the stat, and 'interpret(opinion!)' the stat for us... there is always a human being alongside the stat that will tell us what the stat means...
so in the end it all boils down to opinion aka the eye test, ALWAYS!

    4. to make it real simple, watching games when alperen sengun is used at least somewhat properly, teammates will pass him the ball and trust him, and when he is played enough minutes, alperen sengun is always at least amongst top 2 players on the floor, always! its not rockets science!

and this means he is at least top 30 player in nba

I don't disagree with you but I've watched thousands of NBA games and always look at the box score. Based on my experience watching games and stats I can infer quality given a good range of games. In other words, you can generally correlate consistent PER and +/- with the quality of player if you pay attention.

i agree LOL but you know what they say about correlation not being the causation? LOL

btw its fascinating that if we just pay attention again to what you wrote just now, we'll see that its the eye test that you really really trust to and not the numbers, ie you trust the numbers because the eye test told you so!

I hope he makes money off those ŞenHub t-shirts though.
Similar to Silas in some ways...

I’m trying figure this out… if Sengun is as good as y’all say, why isn’t he leading us to victories? Please don’t blame Silas or any of his teammates, he touches the ball almost every possession. Great players will sometimes carry their team to wins without others doing much.
