lol buddy we gotta redefine meaning of the best or quality of players for you.... its seems what you mean by quality of player or player's game is just sound or pretty names that you often hear in media, that can do some statpadding or have statpadded in the past

you simply lack criteria and eye for quality of a player

Sengun is clearly and easily a superior player to majority of the names on the list you cited

perhaps instead of best you mean most recognized, or with most fans or most hyped by the media or most frequently mentioned by the media, or most experienced or just plain older not better...

The link says this guy wrote/published this on Monday, the 13th.

There's no Sabonis on his list, top 10 or honorable mentions.

He might as well pack it up and call it a career. He has terrible sports takes.

lol i didnt just posted the last play

I posted series of videos to show that Alperen Sengun is the best PG on the Rockets & one of the best PGs in NBA.

Has a natural feel for the game.
    Amazing vision!

Creation for himself & others is easy and effortless to Sengun. He never struggles with the ball in his hands like harden eg.

    Deadly in transition! Giannisesque!

Besides Sengun is a unique pg and the plays that are just another day in the office for him may be a career highlight for your average PG...

He is a walking highlight reel!!

The fat boy Harden didnt collect as beautiful passes as sengun for his 10 + years career what sengun boy did in just 2 years of scarce usage, playing time and shitty teammates to pass to!

He is a genius even for such a good passer as Harden is.

Stone should look at trading ANYONE if it makes the team better, holding on to 9 or 10 --22 and under guys is not a good way to build a winning culture or roster.

Ya we need to cut it down to like 4 young guys and the rest vets. Sengun, Green, Bari and one of KPJ, KMJ or Tari. Trade the rest and draft capital next season for actual good vets.

I wouldn't put my money on any of the young guys they are ALL available to trade, until I get a good roster.

Draft picks are worth pennies on the dollar these days....because of the age of the kids in the draft and the high percentage of busts.

Was reading through thread; few minor things.

    1. Green is a lotto ticket with upside. He's worth keeping around to see how things turn out. Another year or two to see. Plus if you trade Green now; you're not going to get good market price for him.

If in the off-chance Green is still mid in 3-4 years, I don't think Stone will trade him. He may still keep around as a mid player; like Jazz GM did with Dante Exum (5th pick). Call it GM pride or whatever. Maybe not a max, but Rockets will likely still overpay market value to keep him.

    2. On the Corey 50 game thing. Slight tangent, but Corey doing it in 2014, is technically more impressive than someone doing it in the 2020's. (sorry KPJ). Because scoring is inflated now. A more apt (and recent example), is Saddiq Bey, who scored 51 on March 7th 2022. I bring him up because his 50 burger is recent and was coming from a peer bottom dweller in Detroit. Bey as you guys know, got traded this past deadline. Bey in his 3rd year, is no longer with his original drafted team. Like Tate (signed), Sengun (drafted), and Green (drafted), who are Stone's crop of guys. Bey was one of Troy Weaver's first drafted guys. Weaver just loved Wiseman more, and saw enough from Bey's ceiling, that he's willing to part with his original pick.

Bey's play style is different than the likes of Green, I'm bring him up more as a youngster compare to the evaluation of ALL our young guys.

How long a team keep a young guy, before time is up.

Bey was a 19th pick (2020 draft), who in his 3rd year, Weaver saw was time to move on. Green (and Jabari) will have a longer leash because their high draft position. But guys in that mid draft range or behind: Tari, Garuba, Tyty, Christopher are not. 3rd-4th year are usually the time when teams kind of know that player's upside and trajectory. Bad coaches or not; decisions are usually made then.

This is why some of us is pushing for a coach change sooner or later. Because after a new coach regime comes in, and if the young player's growth are still slow (or worse... regress), then Org can't blame external factors and have to start moving on from some of the kids.

Comparing Jalen Green to Dante Exum is quite the stretch. But your point stands, Silas needs to go so these guys have no excuses. We'll know what we have year 3, provided Stone and Tillboy don't botch the search.

For the record I think Green is better than Exum, even at this stage of career. As you noted, point was more about reluctance of GM waving the white flag on their high pick. Even in the Troy Weaver example, he's much likely to give up on a Bey (mid 1st round), than if Cade ended up busting in his 3rd-4th year. Weaver will give Cade a longer leash just as Stone will for Green.

Makes zero sense to trade him now. If you have no confidence in him, then why would anyone give you much value in a trade? We need a coach and a system. We’re almost done stockpiling draft picks. Next is a good coach, improvement, and then adding a few key FAs. At the same time, some of our players will show that they aren’t part of the future and can be released or traded for whatever we can get. You don’t trade a #2 pick in his second season. We all know he is incredibly talented. He needs more development, he needs a coach, and he needs a team w some vets so he doesn’t have to try and ISO his way to a win.

Exum was 5th overall. Fair comment on the condition you're talking about Green still being a bust a couple years from now.

as if I hear the new excuses already...its only the first year with the new coach, its only the first training camp, this is the last year of tanking, this is the first year of rockets trying to win, he came off the injury, had a death in family(his mother's cousin girlfriend's great great aunt), a lot of new faces on this team, it's his first year with this new center and he isnt used to running pnr or isnt used to running the new coaches' special system..he is just 22 .... blah blah blah...yada yada yada....
TRADE HIM ASAP! get something useful for him!
