They suffer from a combination of mental/sexual derangement. If you say you would let a man who enjoys and insists on dressing as/pretending they are a woman watch your kids, i wouldn't believe you.
Probably more readily than someone who preached intolerance based on a misunderstanding of trans issues and what trans actually means.
I rather have a transgender watch my kid than a Catholic priest or a Wrestling coach turned Congressman.
Considering I’ve had a college student who was a male to female trans athlete help teach younger kids I have no problem with a trans person looking after kids that. Thank you though for giving a straightforward answer tot he question.
https://www.mediamatters.org/facebo...rly-two-thirds-interactions-posts-about-trans Just to clear up any fake news narrative spread by people like space ghost who say the left is addicted to spamming trans rights content.
We have right wing politicians running on the stuff even lol. I mean, transgenderism isn't a new thing, why is it suddenly a big deal? I guess we're going to see how effective this new GOP strategy is. I think it's great if you're trying to win elections in deep red areas but not such a great strategy when you're trying to win in more purple areas. It'll be interesting to see how far they can take this transpanic stuff until people see it for what it really is.
I think trans people are getting more visibility and acceptance now. We've seen trans celebrities such as Elliot Page and Caitlyn Jenner recently and trans athletes so I would agree that this issue is more open now. Still trans people make less than 0.5% of the population. While their may be more people interested in trans issues and even expressing things like gender fluidity actualy transitioning doesn't seem like it will ever lead to a significant portion of the population becoming trans. IN that sense I really do think there is an alarmism around the subject and that it is being pushed for political advantage. This goes with the general Right Wing strategy of going after "Wokeness". In the last election we saw how well that strategy might work. Outside of Florida it didn't appear to work that way and going all in on a war on wokeness doesn't seem likely to be a pathway to national political success.
It's a big deal because social awareness is enabling more laws and ordinances to be passed regarding the protection or extension of their rights. In the 90s the social stigma was heavy and trans were portrayed as deviants or even serial killers. They were also lumped together with transvestites, which doesn't necessarily imply gender. How trans people are treated now is a new thing. Definitions of men and women might seem benign but legality can be predicated upon gender, most notably in family courts that determine custody. How Equal Rights Act provisions are interpreted can determine hundreds of millions spent on compliance That clip with Hawley is simple and effective because the teacher went out of her way not to redefine women's rights as (biological) female's rights. I suppose it confuses the matter and makes her position vulnerable from within the trans and women's communities?
Moms4libetty is ironic. Can you tell me why the right consecrates on trans people now? What did they do to you?
Well, yes, they are treated better and that's a good thing and some people do not like that they are treated better and want the social perception of them to be negative. It really isn't much different than how this country has treated other minority groups, there is always a pushback when people push for more equality. As for the law and legal implications, we can discuss these topics with a lot more nuance but it's impossible to do so when plenty on the other side are demonizing trans people. But my point is, it isn't the left whose concerned with trans people or 'obsessed' the left in general believes that people should do what they want to do and protects trans people as a result of this core belief. A growing number in the right do not. They simply do not. I can pull up the polls if you like but more and more on the right are falling into a religious fervor and believe that others should also live their lives to their religious beliefs.
In the 2020s people believe all trans people are pedophiles and I'm sure that percentage is near exactly the same as it was in the 90s. Oh and https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc...nated-right-wing-sources-study-finds-n1234252 The recent influx of anti-trans content has less to do with any new development regarding "trans rights". It has more to do with a long gradual economic downturn and hollowing out of the middle class which leads to the common person asking why this is happening? This leads to wealthy people part of the cultural hegemonic power structure (wealthy white Christians) wanting to make sure that the common folks who are also part of that hegemonic culture(blue collar white folks) to not direct their anger towards economic class struggles. It's why these buzz words like CRT and "wokeism" just magically became part of the common vernacular of political discourse unnaturally. Go to YouTube and see all the anti-woke content and follow where some of these guys get funded by(Kock Brothers for example). Why? People like that want the common white man to be angry at migrants, LGBTQ people and "anti-white" racism.
