I'll put one more conspiracy theory on the table: Sometimes, when you're wondering why the GM hasn't replaced the coach, it's because the owner is refusing to approve the GM's decisions. The owner can come up with any reason he wants, e.g., "Let's wait till the season is over before we reevaluate everything." But what's really going on is that the owner intends to fire the GM.

    It’s Harden’s fault!

Ettore Messina would be a fun and interesting hire but Stone would never do it.

You really want our new coach to start his career with a 30 game losing streak? Just start fresh next year where we can actually start trying.

Tilman is cheap and avoids eating any guaranteed contracts.

I didn't think he would make it through January and he's still employed.

The Spurs are only half a game back and one back in the Win column and charging fast losers of 14 straight.
Detroit is only a game and a half back, two back in the Win column.

The top 3 spots might all have the same odds at #1- #4 but they aren't all equal.

Being worst the worst you can do is 5th and every spot you move increases that .... I would rather they remain worst and limit how far they can drop in the draft than win a meaningless game like the Texans did costing them the #1 pick .... it could put them at 6 or 7 and that would be a total disaster.

No way in hell Tilman pays both a fired HC and his replacement.

I literally went from being like “Ashleyem’s fire Silas petition is a bit much” to “Ashleyem is right!! **** this coaching staff!” In the span of a few months.

That said, I’m pretty sure Silas’ job is going to be secure for the near future...but we shall see

The time to fire Silas was months ago.

Might as well see this tank job through at this point.

But he needs to be let go as soon as the season ends.

Do you really think firing/hiring the coach is actually Stone's decision? I think it's above his paygrade - it's a Fertitta decision.

I’m not sure what difference firing a tanking coach would make. Are people really blind to see this organisation is purposely TANKING? So do you prefer to fire him then someone else take over and get you couple of wins then shoot our self out of top 3 picks? I’m just curious what do we benefit from winning 5-10 games?

I think if Stone went to Tillman and said Silas needed to go, he would be allowed to fire him and pick the interim coach.

In the off season, the call would ultimately be Tillman’s but Stone would try to influence who is interviewed and chosen.

One question... where does Fertitta draw the line and says: OK, I have had enough of Stone?
