i was planning to erase it, i rather not get involved with anything relating to the unhinged hakeem94 He makes sengun fans look bad and folks get triggered with their interactions with him
I deleted my post, to respect your wish to erase your post. I just didn't understand whom or what you were referring to.
hakeem94 and I have interacted for years and years and always got along fine. It's only in the last two years and this season especially when stuff has gone over the top, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Maybe it's the frustration with the losing/perceived mishandling of Alpi or some other stuff but I wish it wasn't this way. At the end of the day I'm just on this board to have fun and talk a little **** occasionally, because the Rockets are a passion of mine--and I'd wager most of you are here for the same reason. In my opinion, personal attacks and basketball-unrelated things don't really add a whole lot to the forum, regardless of intent.
Hi Roomba, this is unrelated, but what is your affiliation with the Roombas? I have one lol. Is it your company? Best
lol defenses are already as honest as they can be, because it's deadly if they sag off of him an give him the headstart to drive, he gonna dunk on them or spin his way to the most efficient rim shot sengun rim shot is higher % shot than almost any players 3pt shot ...because defense also has to foul, has to dance with him and spend energy and its demoralizing to look like a fool and he is also elite offensive rebounder and putback guy Having more weapons is not always better, its a fallacy...its 100% empty theorizing....you just have no imagination to imagine scenario where it's a burden... and here's a hint a burden... what a beautiful metaphor to counter your metaphor of a shot as a weapon sometimes its a burden to have many weapons, you need to work on developing/buying all of them, customize them all, you need to carry them around all the time, lose time/energy on changing them, cleaning them, keeping them in shape, getting used to them all...your life/defense/hunting and decision making can become too complicated... and you easily get confused and lose your focus, you may even get killed while trying to change the weapon during the battle you also risk getting lazy and overreliant on jumpshots... this is a temptation that killed many... and it is killing jabari and jalen ( and it killed hardens rings already)... ....no jumper sengun is becoming the franchise and these 2 may be out of league soon...genius is in simplicity THE LIFE ITSELF IS SHOWING US THE TRUTH AND THE WAY
Sample size is way too small for u to say sengun is the best jump shooter on the team. Like I say D3STINY is the best Sniper on the team only in jest since (day and Hudgins aren't in the rotation) the numbers do seem to back it up since hes at 46%, but man shot only 32 3s. Sengun needs to expand his range or diversify his shot selection. Man took ~23 mid range shots and ~36 3s this entire season. The amount is so low crowning him the best jump shooter is quite dishonest even if the data "backs it up".
I think we're all frustrated so that's a fair assessment and we'll said. This team has to get better. We're so far away and this next draft is our last. We aren't using Alpi right and it sucks because we need to see what we have in Jalen. He's definitely got to work on his jumper and I think that starts with the corner 3 and midrange game You're right on the personal attacks but DD and Bobby are two of the worst when it comes to that. I remember DD was encouraging someone to fight Sam Fisher and Bobby made fun of someone's autistic son. Both of them aren't goods people
I swear hakeem94 tank era vs hakeem94 during the harden era are two complete different posters it feels like
Does he or she have a kid? Probably found their account info and is just typing on it for the past couple of years.
Part of me feels like he forgot to take his meds around the time when we discovered Sengun and imprinted on him like a baby chick as he fell into craziness.
It would be better for the debate to be slightly more precise. I think there is a significant amount of people here, me included, really critical of Jalen Green and Jabari. Jalen is wildly ineffective, a majority here is aware of him lacking handle, also lack of playmaking out of the pick and roll. As a matter of fact, a large share of what Sengun has been able to do without Head Honcho has been limited by Jalen shortcomings as a playmaker. Since that has been the partnership we have been featuring the most. Honestly. I believe at this points Sengun has convinced most of the fan base about him being a big building block. But I do agree with you on a coaching perspective. Coaches are really flexible with Jabari and Jalen, while I perceive them to be more demanding of Sengun and more quick to punish his mistakes. We are just trying to keep the discussion sane and interesting, without exaggerations like the ones messing the twitter debate. We don't have the character limitation here. I love Sengun and will repeat I see him as a building block, just think he needs improvement in many areas and is still far from comparisons to hall of famers.
Jalen has a higher volume of pnr possessions than KPJ slightly and a much higher ppp(points per possession) rating. So Green is a more efficient pnr ball handler on higher volume than KPJ. Green definitely has handle. If he didn't with the amount he dribbles per game he would be averaging 6 turnovers per game. It's obvious you just hear narratives on clutch fans. Green actually has really good handles especially with his screen craft and manipulating screens with the handle. Here is a video below(seek to 5:50) of a non Rocket NBA fans perspective of analyzing Green and analyzing his handle on things like screens
Anyone is better than KPJ. Probably the most worthless player in the league. Jalen is pretty sloppy though. He doesn't have good handle
Nothing is obvious here, as 66 pages of debate can prove. But, to be precise, if your argument is that Jalen can be a franchise player, then KPJ is no benchmark. The last dozen of games without KPJ have shown there is lot of improvements to be made by Jalen on that front. I think we all can agree we need him to be able to be the main ball handler for a large share of the game and he is not there yet. The game at Miami was a disaster for him on that front, he still loses the ball getting into the paint.
I love when people just make blatantly false statements and then defend themselves by then just attacking imaginary strawman. You specifically said that KPJ not being here harms the pnr plays with Sengun as Green is as you said a poor pnr player and a poor ball handler. That was your claim. I said it's wrong and it's not wrong in a "squint your eyes at this stat and it kinda shows the Green is slightly better at pnr playamking". Not the difference in the numbers according to NBA.com are pretty drastic. Green averages 9 PNR possessions a game and averages .84 ppp and KPJ averages 8 pnr possessions a game at .77 ppp. So it isn't even close. Green does it on higher volume and higher ppp. We can have a debate on whether the probabilistic odds of Green being a franchise player is non 0. But if you want to even have that debate have very basic information about Green before you make any judgements about him.
you just hate that I am smarter with more insight and braver than you, you have no intelect and no willpower to resist the crowd thinking you wish you were more like me but alas no spine no brain not enough of them synapses i always had unique insights, idiosyncratic and controversial takes... Remember when I predicted at the very start that corona 19 pandemic is a scam and not scientifically sound? and you were all here scared to the bones! but alas i was throwing diamonds before the swines cause hardly anyone here know the first thing about the science. Anyway, stop derailing this thread you hater, stick to the topic or bolt outahere, go root for james harden or visit jalen green thread discussing his poor effort, poor efficiency and lack of charisma because you are obviously a great fan!
Good post. I am slightly more optimistic than you for Sengun becoming a superstar. He probably won't be as good as Jokic, mainly because he is not as good a shooter. Will his shooting turn into Jokic's level (elite midrange, respectable 3pt range)? I'd give him 50/50 chance of achieving that in the next 2 years. If he can't, the best he can be compared to is Sabonis, which is still very good.
