What gives you most reason for optimism as a Rockets fan (Feb. 2023)?

What gives you hope?

  1. Sengun is a pleasure to watch and can be our foundational piece, our franchise player

  2. Green has the potential to become the leading scorer in the NBA

  3. Jabari will figure it out and will become as good as Robert Horry (Big Shot Bob)

  4. We will have a much better coach and coaching staff next year

  5. We will get lucky and will draft Wemby or Scoot

  6. Harden will come back and will help lead us to the promised land

  7. For @Williamson: Josh Christopher will become the next Kobe

  8. Tari will become the best hustle player in the NBA,

  9. TyTy will be the answer at PG - his floater is unstoppable

  10. KMJ will dunk on anyone in his way

    I picked Sengun. I do think he’ll increase his range as a shooter and continue to get better defensively; he’s got the IQ and plays with effort. I also think he’ll attract other good players that want to play with him. I think we have to build around him; remember he’s only 20.

    Reasons for optimism:
    1). Sengun
    2). Another whack at drafting a star
    3). The prospect of a good coach
    4). Tari’s unstoppable motor

    That would be fine. If we win a championship with Sengun as our second or third best player (or even 6th man), I'll be happy. I just think his potential is not as limited by his alleged limitations as some folks do.

    After he shot poorly during the summer league, I said if he was shooting like sub-33% from three halfway through the season, I'd be worried. Here we are.

    Josh Howard(taken 29th in 2003) was just as talented as Lebron. Lebron was just given every opportunity to develop. Had Josh Howard been taken first it would have been him who just broke Kareem’s record! I have told you a zillion times! Tanking is pointless!
