It's the critics score. . .. a bunch of phoneys with a vested interested to hate on the movie I'm quite sure they the same ones that were call Top Gun (a rather generic and pedestrian) A TRIUMPH OF THEATER!!!! (stay in theaters 3/4ths of a year to make those numbers) These are probably the same ones Sucking ScorSkeezies d*ck and want to be on Old Hollywood's side for the perks etc Long Story Show . .. I pay no attention to Critics esp when most have a bias/incentive/etc Rocket River
here's the thing, RR. EVERYONE LOVES Marvel. The script calls for everyone to hate DC not Marvel. to have a score this low from the people everyone thinks marvel paid off is bad. We dunk on these critics but they get it right a majority of the time. not getting into the nuance, if it's bad, it's bad. if it's good, it's good.
Eh, I'm 50/50 on critics. I take their reviews with a grain of salt. If a movie is universally panned it's probably bad. But I've noticed big discrepancies between critic and audience scores after movies open. Marvel has put out some stinkers recently, I will readily admit that. But there have been good movies, too. Dr. Strange, Spidey 3 were great, BP2 was good.
Movie is looking like hot garbage, right now. Only good part of it, is apparently Kang. To be fair, there haven't been many MCU movies where the critics loved it and the fans hated it, or vice versa. Of course we should take reviews with a grain of salt - and we should go see the movie if we love a particular franchise, regardless of reviews. But critics' track record when it comes to the MCU, is pretty accurate.
The past Ant Man movies were generally light and fun distractions. Maybe the darker tone is causing a mismatch in expectations. Won't read reviews and will have to watch for myself,
facts I’m surprised it’s that low, but these the same critics that had She-Hulk sitting pretty at 80%
I’ll keep it real, if this movie didn’t have Kang, I’d probably skip it Ant-Man himself is like the Gary Matthews of the MCU to me…bland, boring, and I can easily do without I didn’t watch the 1st 2 Ant-Man movies in theaters, and have never gone and rewatched them
BP2 - 84% critics, 94% audience Thor Love/Thunder - 64% critics, 77% audience 2nd Dr Strange movie - 74% critics, 85% audience Ms Marvel - 100% critics, 80% audience She Hulk - 75% critics, 33% audience I trust audiences more than these weirdo critics with agendas chances are Ant-Man will be just decent or ok as opposed to straight up trash
Im trying to see the lie in these critic scores though BP2 was not as good as BP1. I still haven't rewatched BP2 Love and Thunder was ass Dr Strange was a forgettable movie which used Cameos (when was the last time we heard about this movie?) Ms Marvel was good for about 2/3rds of it's run but it was ground breaking for it's south asian representation. She Hulk was close to the source material - even the creator said that. We all know this joint was disliked bombed along with regular people not liking it that much. I would say that 75% is accurate. Real Audience score is probably a mid 60.
u were hating BP2 long before it ever came out…almost like u wanted it to fail 2nd Dr Strange movie was very good Ms Marvel a 100% rating? U kidding me? the source material must truly be ass then…75% accurate for She-Hulk? Shook, stop it
I'm a pretty big fan of all things Marvel. The Ant-man movies were a nice, campy change of pace from most of the catalog. This though...this looks like Ant-man is gonna be dark and gritty. I thought they were going to really breach the multiverse at several points along the way in P4. Seems like just a lot of kind of random stories and setups. Slower burn than I was expecting. Lots of cool stories, a few misses but nbd. I superduper thought Multiverse of Madness would start tying it all back together. Maybe Antman v. Kang does it? Hopefully, it feels more interesting when there's a big, underlying pull to everything.
I said they should recast Tchalla not that I want BP2 to be bad. You should go back in that thread and read what I wrote. I also said I liked BP2 and gave it a good review. Most everyone saw BP2 and said there was something missing and they were correct. Dr Strange was not "very good" come on, man. If you take out the very brief illuminati cameos you probably couldn't tell me the plot of that movie or what the America girl did besides open portals. Do you remember what the end credit scene was? Ms Marvel doesn't deserve a 100 rating but, like I said, it was ground breaking. nobody was about to give it a bad score 75% for a critics score is accurate for She Hulk.. that is already low for a Marvel show. She Hulk wasn't good but it really wasn't that bad. And yes the She-Hulk source material was weird.
It was very good, and huh? The plot was pretty clear. Opening portals and being able to traverse the Multiverse is her main thing is not? Were they supposed to establish her entire lore in a movie where she’s not the main character? She was a plot device. Unless it had Thanos or something major like that, I don’t really remember what the end credit scene was for the majority of these past movies. All I remember is him still having a 3rd eye in the end scene, I haven’t seen the movie in months. there’s not giving it a bad score, and then giving it a 100% rating…1st BP movie was groundbreaking, I don’t see a 100% critic score for that u are probably the 1st person I’ve seen saying the critics got She-Hulk right
Dr. Strange is also my favorite hero so far in this MCU, so I’m not gonna sit here and act like that didn’t help the movie, but I genuinely enjoyed it
One of the youtube reviewers that fawns over anything Marvel seemed pretty underwhelmed. He mentioned how Paul Rudd said that there was a lot of fighting cut out of the film because it was deemed to be too violent....oh well...
