    This will be my one thread I post for the year.

    Who will finish with the better record for the 2022/23? Thee Houston Rockets or the San Antonio Spurs?

    Spurs have better offense (by shooting percentage), but even with better pace of two shots more a game, they're only outscoring the Rockets by 1.2. So, I take it the Rockets are a bit more efficient on offense. As well, the Rockets hit the boards harder and appear to be better on the defensive end. Nonetheless, Spurs (10-22) are up on the Rockets (9-23) by a game.

    I would have to think it doesn't come down to where the teams are now but rather who will see their way to solid improvement in the final 50 games. Neither team has a star (No offense, Keldon Johnson and Kevin Porter Jr.). Can one of them be like the Pelicans of last season?

    Rockets 27th in offensive efficiency…Spurs 28th

    Rockets 28th in defensive efficiency…Spurs dead last

    Rockets 27th in point differential at -5.8…Spurs dead last by a significant margin at -9.5

    Spurs still have more wins than us and have beat us twice…I don’t know how their schedule has been compared to ours, but they are the worst team by the metrics, but not yet by the results

    Rockets are a team who underperforms based on their talent due to age and coaching

    Spurs are a team outperforming their talent due to coaching

    I'd still guess Rockets finish with a better record though both teams will likely finish bottom 5

    One of these TX teams are getting Wemby with Hornets(Jordan) right there lurking

    I think Rockets will have a better record by seasons end in the battle of the TANK-ertons

    I think Gregg has stopped worrying about his career winning percentage ranking. They took a lot of flack for being a mediocre playoff team instead of rebuilding, 2-3 years back. They seem to have a plan now that they've lost some of their pride.

    Spurs on a 13 game losing streak. But the Rockets on a 6 game losing streak to hold the edge for worst record.

    On one hand, it's crazy that we have lost so many games and we are still only 0.5 games behind the second worst. On the other hand, Spurs fans must be crazy as well they have lost 13 straight but still can't get worst record at the moment lol.

    Well, the Rockets are just so experienced in doing it that they just have a big advantage in the tanking playoffs (post All-Star break) so I'm definitely leaning Rockets in the Tankathon.
