Tim McMahon, for what it's worth, said that the rumor around the league is James only wants 1+1 deals going forward. And Daryl Morey is the one who can offer him the most money which he would do. And I mean he could have taken 3 years/120 mil last summer but opted for the 1+1.

Honestly if we get the #1 draft pick so we can pick Victor Wembanyama I can see Harden coming back, roster of
    Harden/KPJ/TyTy
    Green/JC
    KJ/Tari
    Bari/Garuba
    Wembanyama/Şengün
    Is making the playoffs

Harden is probably not coming back, which is unfortunate, but man it certainly weird all of these little nuggets that keep popping up.

If all of this is just squeeze out the most money, then just do it.

    Max it for 4 years.

I dunno man. This guy is right on EVERYTHING Harden.

“3FG% and turnovers won’t help anyone”
“Has never made his teammates better”
    “Will stunt Maxeys growth”

100% accuracy. Plus he uses the words bum and fanboi a lot so you know he knows what’s up.

I would have thought, now that people have seen what life is like without Harden, that there would have been a better understanding of how good we had it.

Apparently this is not the case.

I expect shortly after the quarter point of next season, people will start understanding that we have to give away our pick next year, and perhaps the non Harden path, was not the best one.

Considering we owe our pick in 2024, it seems like that is the target year to hire a coach.

One would hope for a name coach in order to attract a couple of other vets

I believe we all agree Jalen and Sengun are building blocks right now. How does that match with bringing Harden back? I don't see a world where can compete defensively with Sengun, Jalen and Harden on court. I love Harden, but I would rather focus on the new guys.

The notion that Harden is a bad defender is false there have been numerous stats that prove otherwise also we would not be done after adding Harden as we would still have enough assets to make an all in move if need be

Yes, let’s pay a 34 year old a max contract to play with a bunch of 22 and under guys (who don’t have the slightest clue) when he couldn’t get the job done when he was in his absolute prime like 6 years ago. Brilliant!

Here’s my best case scenario if the Rockets miss out on Wemby now that KD is in PHX.

Rockets draft Scoot Henderson, sign Harden and then trade Henderson for a 2nd star. Wiggins for Love after Lebron returned to Cleveland would be a good example to look at. Maybe the 2nd star is Dame? Maybe the 2nd star is KAT? Maybe the 2nd star is Butler? Maybe they buy low on Gorbert? (Gross)

if Harden comes back, it would be a perfect time to cash in some of the chips in a consolidation trade for another established star.

If the Rockets draft Wemby, then I think they ride out the rest of the rebuild.

    thats just not good enough

They are going to need Harden... Wembanyama AND another star. Something like Green and the nets picks for Lillard in addition to signing legitimate role players
