    not really.
Pts are pts. If he went 6/20 and had no free throws, sure he's just mindlessly chucking the ball. If he went 6/20 and went to the line 17 times, that's negates his poor shooting night. Getting to the line and making free throws are also part of the game last i checked.
    15 pts = 5 3s, or 6 2s + 1 3s.

Let say he made those bucket via scoring his stat would look like 11/20 or 13/20, sexier but doesn't change the fact he still scored 29 pts.

Free throws are part of the game, ignoring that to sht on green's performance shows folks your agenda. not everybody in the league can go to the line 17 times unless they were getting intentionally hacked or actually competent at drawing fouls

I still think he took too many bad shots. The free throws are very encouraging.

I think he's still trying to beat the defense with pure speed, and he's doing that, but there's no one in the league that can properly finish a layup at the speed. He has so much forward momentum at the hoop that it just bounced really hard off the backboard.

Greens goto move right now is going hard right past two people and then finish with his left hand off the back board. Against speedy guards, he doesn't get there, against big centers he gets blocked. Against slower guard, he will be at the rim and usually gets fouled.

I do agree, green is forcing some bad shots. With proper coaching he would learn to pass the ball to sengun/his teammates instead of just trying to hero ball it in.

Just saying folks r pushing the narrative that green sucks this game with a lackluster performance with 6/20, yet somehow "forget" that he also went 15/17 from the charity line.

I love that he killed it from the line. Major props there, but he's still taking a lot of horrible shots and making the game way more difficult than it needs to be. His basketball IQ needs a lot of work.

Jalen and Jabari combined for 26%, this type of inefficient game is becoming the norm, plenty of guys around the league with just as much experience who are not this inefficient. People who think they can just flip a switch next year are in for some disappointment.

You would think after watching Harden rely on getting foul calls in the playoffs you'd understand its not a reliable way to put points up.

Also, what you don't consider is that the free throw line doesn't count against his fga even though it's a possession still.

If he made 2 more of his shots per game and someone else had the ball 2 of the times he went to the line then we would have more points on average.

Stop excusing bad basketball. It's like you think being good at one thing means you can ignore multiple things they are awful at. You must love Russell Westbrook because he's so good on fast breaks, right?

This is post shows exactly why are percentages, in a vacuum, are so misleading. Yes, they had a similar shooting percentage, but Green had way more points because he can create his own shot and, in turn, drew 17 fouls. This isn’t a difficult idea comprehend.

Yo get 17 fta in a game requires being good at more than one thing. He gets to the line a lot not because of fast breaks. That's a weird statement. This team doesn't really have that many fastbraak possessions.

He gets to the line a lot because he breaks perimeter defenses down frequently. That is a talent that is extremely valuable for someone at his age. Jumpshooting can become more consistent. I've heard there are players who become more consistent at shooting after 21. It happens.

Last night outside of shooting, he was fine. His defense was fine outside a couple of possessions of going under screens on Maxey. He was fine setting up teammates and taking care of the ball. His issue tonight was shot selection and hus jump shot being off. But he was bothering the Sixers defense a lot. Also imagine the foul trouble one person causes with 17 fta.

Jalen's ts% has gone down from his rookie year and is about 5% below league average.

If you assume about 85% of his free throws aren't and 1s then he's had 950 field goal attempts and another roughly 133 possessions he was fould on.

    1,083 possessions
    1,162 points
    1.07 points per possession

    Now apply that to Sengun...

    794 points
547 FGA + 91 other possessions fouled on
    = 1.24 points per possession

Steve Francis would be joining the NBA next season at Green's age. He was 22 when he got in the league.
