Bro, he's an undrafted player currently playing in the G League. They could get him back for free anytime they want. At least for Matthews we got a future second round pick. And if we use that pick, that guy will be somebody who got drafted and is part of an NBA team. Upgrade.

Maybe, but just b/c someone was drafted in the second round and is on an NBA team doesn't mean, IMO, that they will be impactful, or in this case an upgrade over Armoni.

I know. There have been undrafted players that have had great success in the league. But we're still talking about a guy that not a single team out of 30 thinks is good enough to be on their roster.

That is literally the worst veteran core assembled in NBA history. These guys need some Mike Conleys and Rubios on this team.

Young guys lose. Young guys are also attractive as trade prospects. Young guys have most ceiling to improve.

There are 70million reasons to think we might be able to add vets in the off-season.
This season has been a write off for 2 years already. Last chance to accumulate and develop assets before attempting to start going forward

This team has lost enough to improve for the rest of the season and sprinkle in more wins and still have one of the three worst records and we get to teach the current young guys some good habits and break some bad ones.

Adding vets now isn't going to magically erase us from contention for Wemby.

I don't really understand the value that Boban brings honestly. Maybe there's an off the court maturation happening because of Boban eating dinner or whatever with these kids, but it certainly hasn't translated to anything of value that I can see.

I'd rather use these roster spots to take swings at some two way contracts for the tallest and most athletic bigs in the G-League or overseas... or maybe a point guard prospect that isn't overweight like Nix. Is the G-League really that void of talent??

I was more thinking of an over the hill vet pass first pg who still can get you 20+ minutes per game. I think the team needs something like that the most.

I like the idea of TRYING to find veterans who are overlooked, and mostly viewed as washed up. Giving them a chance to showcase that they are still valuable, and drinking from the fountain of youth. I mean the league thought CP3 was washed but OKC not only showcased him really well, but ended up getting real value for him. Why isn't Stone using that ability to find guys like that.... well maybe not like CP3, but there has to be talent available to a lesser extent at PG.

I'll never understand why the Rockets made no attempt at leveraging teams for even Kemba Walker this year. Seems like the perfect candidate to acquire, extract an asset for your trouble, and let him prove to the league he can still play. I don't understand why Stone seems so limited in his thinking of who can be an asset for your team both in terms of developing other players, and maybe as a flippable asset.

Athletic bigs who are out of the league are usually unskilled, unintelligent, or lazy. These guys are rarely salvageable. The most successful reclaimed products are usually smart and hard working guys who don't have a lot of natural talent. Guys like Tucker and Beverley are good examples of this.

BTW, don't ever say Boban has no value!
