    Same issue as Correa

    No player is going to give up his prime years so he is an old free agent with limited earning capacity in the future unless the contract is higher AAV.

    For 6 yrs he won't accept anything less than $35M per

    6 years $140M secure $23,333,333 M AAV or 23-25 $35M total, then 6/$180M (9/215)

    or non recoverable injury and non tendered $0 AAV.

    Bird in the hand looks pretty good to me.

    I think $215M for 9 is fair on both sides.

    I look at the Austin Riley contract as a comp which was $212M for 10 years but that was before this offseason's insanity.
