Luka isn't caught up like fans are. He knows what he has. Even if it's short term he has a chance to win a ring this year. Kyrie's talent is off the charts. Because of Luka's playmaking ability, they might be the best 1 2 punch in basketball. If Dallas can pull off one more move for a 3 and D role player, they will be an extremely tough out in the playoffs.
It sucks for them that they couldn't tank their way for 3 years instilling a loser culture and then getting John Wall upon trade deadline as a sort of exclamation point that "there is no improvement" because they didn't have any picks due to dumb ownership before them. Now they have a ton of picks and have proven to the world that they can play nice even with craziest super stars (Ben Simmons retired from being one) all the while being in the greatest market US has to offer.
You're pretty funny why don't you look at any Nets forum and see if the Nets fandom are celebrating the ton of picks they just acquired
Those picks are just as good as the Nets' picks we got - PHX is one injury or trade request away from imploding themselves and is not young. Nets are likely to tread water and never intended to tank as they wanted to build up their fandom and image among the league. If I were a Nets fan, I'd be happy that the narcisist and the snake had left the house without too much damage to the team's future. If not for Covid, putting those 3 together seemed like a good bet.
Ok 100 usd tip jar bet? Nets picks Rox will get are gonna be higher than the Suns picks the Nets will get. Since you are so sure the Nets got high value picks on par with the Rox then that shouldn't be a hard bet to take right? Before KD trade happened Nets were seen as this super scrappy up and coming team. Now they have a bunch of role player and Ben Simmons. Oh and they don't control their own picks till 2028 or something. But ok die on that hill.
One of the best players in the league for a bag of chips. If he ends up not causing any drama that's a gigantic Win for the Mavs. He gets overlooked a lot because of the drama off the court but on the court he's still as good as ever.
That's like saying the following: "If Kawhi stays healthy..." "If Ben Simmons just starts making shots" "If Dahmer just quit eating people" It's just not a realistic scenario.
"Just as good" implies that their average expected value is the same. Doing a 50/50 bet over outcome with duration of 4-5 years over a lottery results is the lamest way for me to play a prediction game. I'd rather bet that PHX won't win a championship and won't have same core next year. I'll just let you have it, PHX picks are slightly worse than NET's - there you go. They went all in for three years and failed due to injuries and force majeure event. They had a championship team on paper that they landed thanks to their good culture and now they have their same scrappy team/culture back and their picks stash is nothing to scoff at. Let's get a championship team "on paper" here before laughing at Nets
Why do we need to get a championship team on paper before needing to laugh at the Nets? The fact that they traded their future and ended up with Ben Simmons and role players is proof enough. PHX may not win a championship but they are already on lock to do better than the Nets since the Nets never got any return on James Harden. In fact Harden was a net negative for them he got injured the first year and then caused the team to break up the 2nd year. Unless KD causes friction and breaks apart the Suns they already got better return than the Nets. Nets didn't get anybody thanks to their "good culture". They got it cuz they're in freaking Brooklyn. You know that city? It's just a stone's throw away from New York just in case you aren't aware and it's a major media market so players always flock there regardless of team culture or whatever. What culture are you talking about when the player they built around aka KD is gone? The team they used to have that scrappy culture is also gone cuz those guys were headed by DLo who is obviously already in LA. Their pick stash is something to scoff at since these are all low picks. So all that culture BS you are talking about doesn't exist since the players that had that aren't there anymore, they even got a new coach so who is there to create that culture? Ben Simmons? LMAO! At the end of the day the nets are a rebuilding team but their lotto picks all belong to the Rockets while the picks they have are all projected to be low picks. Not sure you are getting it. Look at the Nets reddit the best thing they are getting excited about is Mikal Bridges. https://www.reddit.com/r/GoNets/ Starting 5 of Mikal Bridges, Spencer Dinwiddie, Nic Claxton, Dorian Finney Smith and Cam Johnson. OMG I'm sure the EAST is quaking. What amazing wizardry by the Nets FO
