[Woj]Rockets finalizing trade to send Gordon to Clippers

Gordon should have been trade last year to Sixers, Suns…..this is terrible

 

Gordon does us a solid and tanks the Clippers season giving us another lottery ball.

 

We can tipjar bet the pick will end up being in the 20s. I have no problem with that

 

The pick swap is a great get here. Imagine we land at #3 through #5 in the draft (hope not, but very possible). Now we can potentially offer a mid-first round pick this year + other stuff to try and move up to get Scoot if a team like Charlotte lands #2 in the draft. Not sure that any team bites on that versus just taking the BPA, but at least it improves the odds. If not, then at least we get a mid-first round shot at landing another Tari Eason type of guy.

 

What were the better offers the Rockets had on Gordon?

 

They had better offers? I know we’ve heard rumors of other offers but I’ve been really skeptical of them.

Maybe I’m undervaluing Eric Gordon and Bones Hyland too much but I don’t really see them as an upgrade over Kennard and Wall.

Did I miss another trade the Clips made?

 

Was about to wish Eric well with the clippers, then I saw the swap picks.. So don't do too well over there, atleast for this season only!!

 

The 20's is 2 picks away from where they are at, with like a game of separation. C'mon now hustler lol

They re currently 6th and tied for the same number of losses as the 4 seed. I will bet that they don't finish any higher than 4th.

 

They had 6 offers with at least a #1 pick going to Houston, and Stone turned them all down. That is what I heard, and it was consistent with what Kelly Iko reported like two weeks after I posted about it. Miami and the Sixers I remember offered their first rounders. Stone insisted on two first rounders and wanted them to likely be in the teens.

 

The hate is just too blatantly obvious at this point. It's a pretty decent move to have the opportunity to pick swap into the high teens or early 20's. Either way, it's a net positive move and provides ammo to move up to land a player we want. Rockets aren't taking on any additional salary in the coming years. It's a good day so far.

 

my posts have said this pick will be in the 20s. There's nothing hustling about it. That's why i'm not all crazy like some of you about the swap option. It's mediocre. if you're all celebratory about that then that's you but my point the entire time is the pick will end up in the 20s.

 

Westbrook is coming off buyout. This pretty much guarantees it.

 

Hoping Leonard and George get injured.

 

Clippers have made a lot of upgrades

 

Last year it took 29 + 22 to move up to 19. So there is that.

The Clippers are 8-3 in their last 11 games, and most of their problems date back to a 6 game losing streak they had when they had injuries.

It is always possible the Clippers collapse, but there are a number of teams tied with them or a game ahead.... most likely the Clippers move up some, and the Rockets get a 6 or so game bump in the draft, and that is usually worth a few second rounders.

 

You can't make this crap up. I guess John Wall ends up with LAL and Westbrook to LAC to complete the would have been Westbrook for Wall deal part deux.

 

Seriously….we are now hoping the Clippers to lose now. This is embarrassing….

 

My $$ is on them not moving up higher than 2 playoff spots.
