If we do not trade Gordon -- we get significant value just by him dropping off the payroll next year. That could be a better option for us as compared to A) Taking back weak players that we'd have to pay; or B) Taking back draft picks at a time when we have an abundance of youth on the roster. I'm fine with keeping Gordon and shedding his salary this offseason. We can spend the money more freely on the open market.
I'd be surprised if he were bought out. EG may not be worth a 1st but they could get a 2nd rd pick for him. If they don't trade him for a 2nd rd pick it would seem that they value him being here.
I’m hearing that there’s a chance they keep him and re-sign him for two more years (at a discount to his current contract). Think it was in the Athletic today.
