Gordon to Dallas for Bertans and 2025 1st (top 7 protected) Houston outlook: Gets a 1st for Gordon they so desperately want at the cost of swallowing a bad contract. Rockets take the risk on Bertans being the new veteran presence and hoping he turns it around in a new environment. Adds some much needed shooting. Dallas outlook: They shed a bad contract for a likely late 1st and gain a valuable veteran for their championship push. We know Gordon will fit next to Luka, as its identical to the Harden situation. He can also be cut and effectively be an expiring contract. Go all in this year around luka, kyrie and wood.
No way the Rockets wreck their offseason cap space plans in the next two years for Bertans and a first round pick from a playoff team. That cap space is why they haven't traded Gordon already - any deal for him has had returning salary that extends beyond the end of this season and that is a no go.
I just dont see gordon bringing value unless its with shiit salary coming back. Not sure overpaying someone this off-season is better then overpaying bertans on his current scale.
Just because somebody looks the same doesn't mean they have the same skillset. Also, what precedent are you basing the Hudgins over TyTy/Christopher idea on? As of today, he's played a total of 10 minutes of NBA basketball this season compared to the 230 and 346 minutes for TyTy and Christopher, respectively. Based on that stat alone, clearly the team values those two guys and their development over Hudgins. It feels like you're just manufacturing this notion of them playing Hudgins because he looks like Nix completely out of thin air. There's no basis for it.
You're missing that guy's point. He's not saying they physically look alike. He's saying that Nix sucks and is much worse than TyTy/Josh and Silas and Stone and everyone in the FO know that but they're still playing Nix way more than them to keep the tank rolling. With Nix gone, they'll find equally bad if not worse players to fill on that spot so that we lose even more. Not saying I agree I just saw the weird confusion and felt the need to help the guy get his point across.
Thanks for seeing someone got the point and explaining. I would not have the energy to explain again. Grateful.
I feel you on that… clutch and the rockets talk were just on talking about the org keeping Gordon for harden as the reason. I don’t see him going anywhere and they have the option to pick up next year to trade. This one never ceases to amaze
I know some of you guys are mystified by the lack of an Eric Gordon trade but the answer is plain as day - EG stays a Rocket until the HEAD HONCHO says he can go. Occam's Razor.
To Kings Jae Crowder Cameron Payne #1 from Suns To Suns Eric Gordon Kenyon Martin Richaun Holmes To Rockets Cameron Johnson Torrey Craig Davion Mitchell No long term money and we convert Martin into Mitchell as a possible point guard option...
He wanted to go to the suns anyway so let him go there. Take whatever asset they have left and move on.
https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7708789 To Houston: M. Bridges P. Mills To Phoenix: E. Gordon TJ Warren K. Durant To Brooklyn: C. Johnson J. Crowder J. Tate B. Marjanovic + Nets pick/swap Stone, make it happen!
I don't know how to break this to you, but they have none left over. The NBA is calling our bluff and they are right. We are going to buy him out at the playoff deadline because no one will give us more than a second rounder for him if we insist on receiving an expiring contract. It's taken 3 years to trade Gordon and they have lied so much. They lied that we had a first round pick offer. They are lying that a buyout is unlikely. All teams leak bullshit to the media through Shams/Woj, but non as amateurish as our front office.
Lying is fun till you get caught and nobody will negotiate with you in good faith anymore. We might be getting close to that point.
First: Tate to CLE for Osman + CLE 2023 SRP Second: Cut Nix Third: HOU - MIA - DET MIA: Gordon (HOU) + Boban (HOU) DET: Robinson (NIA) + MIA 2023 FRP + MIL 2023 FRP (via HOU) + CLE 2023 SRP HOU: Hayes (DET) + Noel (DET) + Yurtseven (MIA) Only way I can see that really salvages this trade deadline Hayes - KPJ - Nix Thrilla - JayGup - GBird KMJ - Tari - Osman Bari - Noel - Garuba Sengawd - Bruno - Yurtseven
To Heat Gordon Crowder To Raptors K Martin Lowry C Martin 2 #1 picks from Suns/Mavs via Brooklyn To Nets Siakim #1 pick from Brooklyn via Houston To Rockets Bridges Math works...
Your Osman for Tate trade makes so little sense to me. It's just such a random swap of 27-year-old SFs. Why do it for a second round pick? Why do it at all? Also, sorry to pick on you, dude, but one of your main points is "cut Nix" and then you still have Nix on your depth chart.
