I'm still trying to process how good it is for us. It's obviously better, but I'm trying to see how good a team the Nets are going to be. It's not like they won't have talent.
No lol. Those picks arent what you think they are going to be. I mean I hope they are but Im not holding my breath.
Depends on the draft options but I think so. Assuming let’s say the Rockets get a top 2 pick(Wemby or Scoot) - I would be willing to give up Tate, Ego and 1 of their firsts back and one of our own future firsts for him. Scoot Green Bridges Jabari Sengun could be interesting or maybe anyone but KPJ Green Bridges Jabari Wemby …those are killer lineups!
Bridges and Simmons gonna lock all 5 opposing players up by themselves and Cam's gonna go off for 120 every night. I see the plan.
I need to see a 10 game sample to get a better gauge. They may not be done trade wise either. No matter what they do this year they get to keep their pick. Or, if they were to go like 6-22 the rest of the way they get a top pick regardless if they somehow moved into the top 4 lotto wise.
This roster looks to be about on par with the Scola-Lowry-Kevin Martin Rockets. Not bad enough to compete for a #1 pick, not good enough to get past the first round.
Told yall lol the nets go be competitive. Those picks we got go be sub-par at best. Stone overplayed his hand.
Yeah, I mean they’re not a championship contender anymore but I don’t know, play-in team? @Mr Woods said it in one of these threads, not ready to take some victory lap yet. Nets got back what they gave up: four unprotected firsts (and a swap). (I don’t care about the swaps that may or may not materialize TBH) So far, all the Rockets have to show from the Harden trade is Tari Eason. (No, I’m not counting Jalen Green or anyone else from their own sucktitude)
There also shouldn't be a victory laps because Brooklyn will be Brooklyn, they will continue to lure All Stars to their cause. That is not going to stop, maybe hiatus for now. Houston has to build itself up and establish a culture first but the destination is also a decent one. Both organizations have decent outlooks other than having Silas as coach, I think Brooklyn would attract better executive people though.
I can’t see Brooklyn being competitive. I can’t even imagine half of those guys being on that team in the next season or two except Claxton and Thomas. That team however is a gold mine of role players and BKN can definitely make some trades to acquire more assets for a rebuild.
You guys must see that they are not going to be that bad because they have no incentive to tank (they don't own most of their own picks). If they have Vaughn and a good well rounded roster without superstars, they can still win 30-40 games in the East and if they can they will. However, our picks have a higher floor and a lower ceiling which is better than it was. If we get a #5, a #10 and a #15 from them it will be so excellent for our future especially when it comes time to upgrade big contracts into better players.
