Eh. If I'm trading KPJ, it's going to be for someone who has much superior pg play than what already exists on this team. Cam Thomas isn't that. He's a far worse playmaker than KPJ. Hell Jalen Green is a better playmaker than Cam Thomas.

    2. Q. Grimes
    3. Bones Hyland
    4. Cam Thomas (major recently bias, but he’s having an insane stretch)
    5. Jalen

I think where some get confused is that they seem to think "Better than Jalen Green" means "good"....it clearly doesn't. It's like making it over a hurdle that's buried 20 feet in the ground....you can crawl over it.

I'm going to toss in the fact that it's hard to compare anyone playing in the Rockets current..... uh... system? environment to someone on an average NBA team. But yes, it's not looking good for Jalen in the very short term. Just offensively speaking, he needs to work on shot selection, strength, dribbling, finishing off the glass, and having a point guard.

Also most of these players like Grimes and Ayo have like less than 20% unassisted fgm percentage. Almost every bucket they make is off an assist. Green is near 70%. Hyland is closer at 54% and it shows as his ts% and Green's are nearly the same but Green does it on mich higher volume and still mich higher self creation percentage.

Yeah to be fair when I suggested that my idea of Cam was a huge sparkplug off the bench, which is what I think KPJ ultimately will be... but only if he accepts that role -- which I don't think he would.

I don't think we'll get a quality PG for KPJ unless if it's in a Donovan Mitchell type deal where he's the Sexton equivalent in the deal and not the main piece

Ya you can see it from just looking at each of those guys' unassisted fgm%. It's like at the opposite end of the spectrum to Green besides Hyland who is still less but it isn't a coincidence that he also has a similar ts% to Green.

Green does it on higher volume though with defenses paying more attention to him. Nugget opponents have to worry about these guys named Jokic and Murray

The other guys are getting spoon fed looks. Comparing their scoring efficiency to Green would be absurd especially.given it's on mich higher volume a lot more self creation and opposing defenses are squared in on him at the perimeter.

Do people actually watch Cam play, he has worse shot selection than Jalen Green. Just constant contested pull up 3's and mid ranges, rarely looks to pass unless he's caught in the air. I might eat crow if he becomes a superstar, but from what I've seen it's much bigger achievement to play within the offense and find easy shots than always taking difficult shots and making them.

He actually remind me of Sexton

Cam is free to jack up shots which he did in college. I think people just make too many excuses for green.

We don't need to make excuses. Green is scoring over 20 ppg while Cam is averaging 10. Once teams adjust while KD is out and do things they do to Green routinely now such as double Green off screens leaving the roll man wide open at the perimeter then let's see how he does.

Reality is not an excuse, Green's expectations were so high that even scoring over 20ppg in his 2nd year has people disappointed and complaining. He is The Rockets best player and scorer. He is the focus of the other team's defense every night. There aren't many if any players from Green's draft class that can be put in his position and dish out the same results.

I definitely agree with that too but Cam makes Jalen look like Steve Nash.

first of all jalen is not the best rockets player or scorer its Sengun and its not even close and sengun is the focus of other teams defenses

sengun would have averaged 30 pts on good efficiency in jalen greens position

Sengun isn’t the Rockets best player, he’s not the best scorer… he IS the best passer and most likely best facilitator … and both are horrid on the perimeter on D
