Good post and as I said above we got the number 1 pick Yao Ming from the 6th worst record in the draft. The last 2 years we were worst and didn't get the top pick either year.......so I am 100% ok with taking a shot from the 5 or 6 hole and showing improvement. DD
Wemby would be awesome, but this draft has 5-6 intriguing prospects that could really help this team. Its not an all or nothing scenario.
Even with the loss to the Spurs, the Rockets have played only four games (they’re 2-2) against the 11 teams currently under .500, while every other team has played at least seven games against that group.
28 games left, the easier schedule should be kicking in soon with about 2 months left in the season right?
to get to the estimates in this thread, you'll have to combine the wins for the next 23-24' season. So maybe by December they'll have almost 30 wins
That's true But on a more serious note: growth is desperately needed. However tanking for Victor is the #1 priority. Getting a generational A-list prospect on draft day changes the entire next 5+ years for this team compared to getting another B-lister prospect (e.g Jabari) or trying to play free agency and getting more Michaels Carters Williamses or Johnnys Flynns. Cherry on top: It might force a coaching change. Although at the end of the day I just think the owner is 100% incompetent in terms of professional sports strategy.
A projection based on early season data trends turned out to be grossly inaccurate. Never seen that before
