This guy had some crazy stat in college like the least passes ever from a guy with a certain usage threshold. All he does is shoot. Looks good when he's hot but when he's off it's just annoying.

I don't rate Cam Thomas very highly, that play style is not sustainable.

I don't actually consider Jalen to be a huge chucker.

Cam Thomas vs the entire Harden package... ?

By far IT's biggest problem was being 5'9 on defense in the NBA

We all knew JC was a bad pick at the time. Pretty sure it was just to make JG happy. Only reason I'm not pissed is bc he got Sengun.

2021 draft had a lot of SGs and what we can say for certain is that the hyped ones that went in the lottery are not looking better than the ones taken later.
Green has been disappointing, but others in the lottery are outright disasters: Josh Primo is out of the league (perv), Suggs is pretty bad, Bouknight and Moody have shown nothing.

Meanwhile, Cam Thomas, Q. Grimes, Bones Hyland have shown quite a bit and all three would have been available to us at #18, the pick that OKC would have swap to us if we didn’t get 1-4.

So was all the tanking, hand-wringing, sweating the lottery etc. worth it? How much of an upgrade is Jalen Green over these three?

Yeah lets compare two players that were put in two totally different situations.

One was drafted with incredibly high expectations, an immense amount of pressure and coached by Silas. Not to mention he was injected into a team with no point guard and no veteran leadership.

The other was drafted with no expectations, no pressure and a solid team with stars that can have a positive impact on a young player. When its all said and done Green will be a star and Cam Thomas might be a veteran journeyman....

Cam Thomas is not in the same category as Hyland and Grimes. He's basically chucking up a lot of shots on a team with no stars and making them.

Hyland and Grimes are actual effective roles players on playoff teams.

Cam looks like a better 3pt shooter. Other than that they both look the same at this stage which is a one-dimensional score-first mentality and do absolutely nothing else.

Cam is a 6’1 one dimensional guard, is just as bad on defense as green is and has a terrible assist to turn over ratio. He’s a nice player who can make quick buckets coming off the bench, but not much else

yes, agree, however a microwave scorer can also be an effective "role". What he’s doing now is legit NBA accomplishment, no matter how one-dimensional

just goes to prove draft order is a huge bs and has nothing to do with the quality of the players both, as it is on the draft night, or in the future....
people acting as if the god almighty drafted these guys himself in that particular order when it cant be further from that

Clutchfans is lost. Like seriously lost.

Have you ever once seen Cam Thomas get doubled after a pnr action? Do defenses even pay attention to him?

the only thing cam thomas can do is score. It's literally everything else that is less than even average. That's what hes been since he got into the league.

Are we trying to imply that Jalen would even be the 2nd best SG in his class? As of right now, Jalen Green is such a massive net negative, it's hard to say he's better than many people in the entire league. Just not playing him at all would be an upgrade.

    I'm aware

I actually wanted to trade KPJ for Cam Thomas LAST year. But, it's easily Jalen Green.
