This is the issue Republicans always have with biden. They bash him and lower the standards so low for him then when he does basic stuff his numbers go up. Happens every single damn time. It's what I said before the speech as well. Keep underestimating Biden at your own will. He's going win a 2nd term by ease against Trump. Voters like boring over radical every time.

I’m sure you didn’t bother to watch, but Biden did extremely well. His speechwriter deserves some kudos, and Biden deserves kudos for execution. His comment to McCarthy that he doesn’t want to ruin McCarthys reputation, but I look forward to working with you … brilliant. His baiting of Marjorie Taylor green on Medicare cuts was masterful. He looked smart, in control, tough, lively and engaged. Biden is usually a terrible speaker but he delivered the goods tonight. And the tag line “Let’s Finish the Job” is excellent for the 2024 campaign. Miles better than that incomprehensibly bad “Build Back Better” crap in 2020.

He absolutely played the right tonight with the comments on Medicare and SS. President Biden did quite well laying out his accomplishments and agenda. The use of “Lets finish the job” was masterful. Personally, I’m still not entirely sold on a 2nd term and I do have concerns about his ability in the future. Right now, though, he’s still quite capable and up to the job.
Kind of crazy that GOPs message is for they are for smaller government when almost everything they want to do spits in the face of that.

If Sanders comments is reflective of the type of campaign we would see from DeSantis, you are right. It is hard to see people with any degree of intellect or education voting R. The moronic base will love that crap, but that simply won’t fly with educated suburban voters. What is striking is that Sanders comments actually mirror the culture wars circle jerk in CF: - Biden is controlled by the scary “radical left” - democrats can’t tell you what a woman is. - CRT. Making our children hate each other for their race. scary scary children stuff. - no Latinx - Murica story about visiting some military installation, bravely flying under the cover of night with Lord Trump, soldiers chanting USA, blah blah blah. It is honestly embarrassing for anyone with any modicum of intelligence or education to be fixated on this nonsense.
As for me the Man did the job tonight like a gentleman should that last so called potus has never handled or ever spoke with class like Biden did tonight.
