I am saying that the coach has a lot of responsibility, just like parents do with children. These are very young and impressionable players, and they are in the middle of a **** show with Silas and this staff and organization. People don't want to hear it, but I can see why KMart didn't want his son to stay with this group. Speaking of incompetence, is Stone alive? He said nothing after Wall and he still is a mute. At least Silas takes questions.
How do you know he lacks confidence? By the sound of his voice? Mannerisms? These are all judgements. Do you like it when people judge you?
I agree and have said that he isn’t the guy to take this team to the next level. But fans are putting everything on him without holding players including their beloved Sengun accountable. The whole organization is accountable from front office to coaches to players but putting everything on the coach is asinine and illogical.
nice way to avoid the answer to this question: Would you buy the insurance from someone that awkward and lacking confidence? I wouldn't.
He didn't. But it's just what some of these guys do as they're thinking how to answer a question -- they look away from the faces, and often it's at that sheet right in front of them.
If you're a coach and players aren't doing what they're supposed to do... you know you do? Bench their asses
He doesn’t sell insurance he is a coach. And again that’s your judgement. None of us have worked with him or have a personal relationship with him. I don’t see where the lack of confidence or awkwardness judgements come from. Based on what exactly? Im reading and watching the same interviews you do. He goes out and leads his team and answers media questions with intelligence and articulation. He hasn’t had issues with players since the KPJ incident. But yet people direct all their hate to one man all because their beloved team isn’t winning.
Now we are judging someone for looking down at a sheet of paper. So many assumptions presumptions and judgements.
Dude, if you bench everyone who doesn't play defense, we won't have more than 5 players to put out there. Only Sengun, Garuba, Tari, Jabari and Tate are playing defense. It's BEYOND the point you're talking about. You have to play a PG and all the PG options don't play defense. So wtf do you do as coach? We have to acknowledge the magnitude of the problem. We have bench players who wish they were starting who are not playing defense. There's no way Silas, Batiste, Hollins and Lucas didn't show them and tell them how to play defense. This is absurd. Blame Silas every other night. On that night, it's the players. The worst coach in the NBA should get better effort than that.
Right? But you have to admit the humor in lots of people here imagining that Stone hands Silas a slip of paper after the game. "Here's what you need to say. And whatever you do, don't smile or say anything nice about anyone! Especially Sengun!"
I really don't care. Like I said, the worst coach in NBA history could be our coach and that's still not an acceptable amount of defensive effort. There could be no coach at all on the sideline and they can put forth better defensive effort than that. It's beyond the point you're thinking about. The players are a bunch of assholes because Silas was easy on them and instead of repaying his trust they shat the bed even more. If it leads to Silas developing some thicker skin, great. I don't care if it's new. What I care about is that these players have been shameful at the one thing that doesn't require experience, doesn't require a coach, doesn't require anything but values we've had since we were 5 years old. Just work hard at the thing you're passionate about.
Alperen make basket. Alperen learn important English words like "renegotiate," "eliminate salary cap," and "union lockout." That is why I am Hooked on Phonics.
If you look at the tape from that game they kept leaving wing threes open partly because the wing is looking at the ball handler going to the paint or cheating a bit to help against dribble penetration but when the ball is passed out to the wing the defender doesn’t make an effort to run out or put arms up. They killed the Rockets with back door cuts all night and again the wing defender was looking at the ball and no help weakside to stop the cut. They also didn’t run back after a score several times as Kings exploited this. Players are accountable for on court execution at the end of the day.
But this is where vets with winning experience comes into play. Most of those bad teams (Hawks, Nuggets, Suns) who became contenders always had serviceable vets with winning experience on their teams. There’s a lot of knowledge to be gained but also they hold other players accountable. That’s why I assess the Rockets aren’t trying to win. There’s simply no serviceable vets on this team with winning experience besides EG. To me there’s no reason to be upset or shocked or into your feelings because this team simply isn’t built to win.
Silas waits until 13 and 41 to show some emotion...JVG would have been like this 99% of the time in a 41 and 13 season And as far as the awkwardness and to be fair to Silas, it was super awkward to see JVG happy and smiling sometimes so Silas who is naturally a cheerful guy can't really act out anger in the same way JVG couldn't act out a happy face.
