Watched this again and it is even more pathetic the second time you watch it. I kind of feel sorry for this guy, but it's embarrassing.
I fully agree the tough guy vs nice guy is not the issue/solution. Respect is gained through actions, your competency not the communication style. But you vastly underestimate or ignore the effect of the treatment of kpj on the rest of the team. I said it will break the team and I think it did. When you give one player undeserved minutes, usage, praise him constantly, ignore his constant pouting and poor attitude on the floor, be unfair to players in minutes or roles, it will have consequences. And this guy comes out saying ‘I am your leader’. This combined with poor technical coaching and bad results will take a toll on the players. You can say it is in the end on the players but it is also on the people who built up the worst team atmosphere I ever saw. On another note, I don’t see where the nice guy myth comes from. He treats his players like an ass hole. He is a very awkward communicator, does not look or sound genuine.
It’s always either this guy or Corrosion. The two remaining Silas fans. Guarantee you that if they were given their own teams, he wouldn’t be on the list of guys they’d be interviewing for a head coaching job.
hmmm what should a coach do if the players on the floor aren't giving an effort? If only there was a solution.... (bench them)
Feels like Silas knows the end is near and the frustration is boiling over. Tilman and Stone have done nothing to improve the roster in the short term, and Silas won’t be around for the long term. Dead man walking.
Yeah…when ppl're getting furious you can see that in their eyes, the flames, the angor, the monster. silas jUST sit there read his script like a problem child.
Don't know what to make of it. He looks like reading from a script. Very weird. What is clear is that he is embarrassed and is feeling the heat for a while. What is a coach doing when his team gave up an average of 146.5 points in two consecutive games (with no over time)?
