Almost two years is enough to know someones character. Flashes only show that he is not working enough. He stands on defense. He dissappears very often too. Thats like the opposite of being Kobe-like. **** **** Kobe, he doesnt have 50% of the fire young McGrady had. If anything Jordan Clarkson with better dunk package comparsions are becoming true
His first year stats doesnt qualify him as a "bad player" dude was 1st team rookie for a reason. His performance has backslid this year but it isnt a big deal given its only his 2nd year. Cade Cunningham had a season ending injury I dont see anybody talking **** about Cade. As bad as Jalen is playing still better than getting injured so bad you out for the season.
So then we SHOULD judge 20 year old players after a year and a half in the league? Or is it that we just shouldn't do that for Jalen Green because him performing as the worst player on the team is somehow okay because he's Kobe Bryant? Is that the story we're going with? We need to get the story straight.
I see the biggest Green hater has shown his true colors once again now that Green is playing bad. Time to bring out the Brewer comparisons again amirite?
Not only is that not accurate, Jalen Green was absolutely terrible as a rookie with the exception of the last 20 games or so....and the best rookie on the Rockets last season didn't make any rookie team....so clearly there wasn't a valid reason why players made or didn't make those teams. His performance is actually better this season than his rookie season, it's just that he's still terrible. He's still literally the worst defender in the league and his offense isn't a net positive. Typically you'll find that players will get more criticism for being terrible at basketball than they will for merely getting hurt.
honestly i dont even remmember when he has dunked last time... to me sengun is a better dunker... green can only dunk in an empty gym it seems...sengun dunks on paint full of people
And he was amazing those last 20 games so whats your point? You judge a player by their overall season performance so the good and bad average out. Speaking of Cade you realize Cade is a net negative as well his entire career so far right? Dude has a negative career BPM but Piston fans dont give him ****. Thats cuz Pistons get it unlike y'all. Btw Cade getting injured sets him back a whole lot more than Green. It'll affect his entire offseason and start of next season as well as he needs to do rehab just to get back to his form during his 2nd year. Rockets fans are the worst ever you literally have people like y'all hating on Green just cuz you cant get enough of Mobley. In an alternate universe where Green is getting set up plays in Cleveland and Mobley is being labeled as a bust/role player for scoring at 40%FG due to nobody getting him the ball and we didnt trade for Sengun I'm sure you'd be losing your minds even more.
Sure he had a hot streak at the end of the season when quite often playing against teams no longer trying to win.....and that proved to be nothing more than a fluke. If we judge him on his overall season, he was absolutely awful....so I'm not sure you want to do that. Try to focus on the few games Green wasn't completely terrible on both sides of the ball in his career. The low standards of Pistons fans isn't really relevant here. Simply pretending awful players are good is something poverty franchises do.
I thought that fastbreak foul rule will unleash Green. I saw Tari way often in those situations though… so whats the use of his speed? I am very dissappointed i was a big believer of him but he proves me wrong everytime. I feel like he thinks he is big already and thats what stops him from getting big. He is not humble. Even the slam dunk contest you could see it when he came out with some cringe nft instead of focusing on the contest
All-rookie is more about “most important rookie” than best basketball player at that moment in time. For that reason I actually agreed with Jalen making the first team even though I’d rather have had a Herb Jones, Quentin Grimes, Sengun, etc last season if I’m trying to actually win an NBA game. Michael Carter Williams won Rookie of the Year. Do you think he was a good basketball player? Since Jalen came into the league the Rockets are 10-9 when he doesn’t play and 23-93 when he does. You can’t just write that off. I also think Cade’s injury actually has lowered his standing a bit amongst people who follow the league.
@roslolian Was too late to edit my earlier post but where I probably am being somewhat unfair calling Jalen a bad player relates to his role. If he was on the Nets in the same role as Cam Thomas he’d be doing the same thing and wouldn’t be an overall large net negative for his team’s chances at winning a basketball game.
You judge players by how raw they are and what they have the potential to be, I know you mind can only handle black and white takes, but in reality there are nuances and considerations to everything.
