Wins all around. Lakers and lebrons got screwed Dallas and luka will get screwed Nets are screwed Rockets will benefit due to the Nets implosion
Considering the cards Nets have been dealt, I think they did relatively well to keep their reputation intact and maintain the status the big three experiment gave them as the premier big market destination. They treated their marque superstars fairly when they acted like petulant children while trying to acquire best returns via trades. And they keep developing young talent. Free agents looking for big market would have to be intrigued. Irving would grow more and more malcontent with age. With less spotlight and more relatable front office, Dallas is better equipped to deal with. Nets needed to get rid of him sooner or later to maintain their professional culture. In that way, it was a win win situation. Neither team is/was winning a chip. The pIoint is, I wish we had Net's front office. Somehow it instills more confidence than Patty and co.
The Suns are ready to trade Chris Paul? Would we consider it if we were to get Wemby? Paul/TyTy Green/KMJ Bari/Tari/Tate Wemby/Garuba Alpi
Even worse there's no good FA in the next couple of years so when KD opts out they have no one to replace him with.
Are you serious? You are more confident in the Nets team that traded Jarett Allen, Caris Levert, Paul Millsap, 3 unprotected frps and 4 unprotected swaps for Ben Simmons and Seth Curry? LMAO
Luka is a ridiculous NBA talent, but he lacks the most important skill when it comes to winning these days. That is being boys with other NBA stars so you can team up. Dallas is desperate because they can't get another star. I think it's gonna fail, but I get it.
The Suns attempted to trade for Kyrie to get better, not worse lol. Would I consider the trade, hell yeah, would the Suns consider it, hell no.
Well, if you ask DD and Bobbythesmall and the other four KPJ stans, they would be getting better with this trade, because KPJ is the next Harden .
However, the second, deeper possibility every front office will be whiteboarding, is what happens with Luka Dončić. Even before this trade happened, execs I talked to on my road trip this past week, who were given anonymity so they could speak freely, were openly wondering if adding Irving could create a last-straw type situation that ends up pushing Dončić to seek the exits … much as happened with James Harden in Brooklyn. We don’t have any information that Dončić is unhappy, but we know Dallas is desperate. We know that because the Mavs just told us. Nothing says, “Everything is fine here,” like trading for the league’s most radioactive player, an accomplished amity arsonist now presented with fresh tinder. A logical follow-up question would be to wonder why the Mavs are so desperate right now. – via John Hollinger @ The Athletic
He doesn't have to though, all he has to do is go title chasing and pretend he is a Number 2. ('Equal partners') Leave Dallas behind. Lebron had to get out of Cleveland to taste first success. You would not believe your eyes how many teams would welcome him.
Scenario 1: KD: 'Nets, I request a trade''. Nets:. 'We took the whole summer, there wasn't a good deal good enough'. Scenario 2: Kyrie: 'Nets, I request a trade''. *2 days later* Nets: 'I found you a new home'.
