no because you will destroy all the pt in the world and other valuable resources waiting for him..the call have to be made in advance imho THIS IS WHY TANKING NEVER WORKS
I agree, we already saw a 1 and a half season of Green, there is no possible way this dude will improve. Like none, at all. On top of that he is getting older, when he came into the league he was 1 year younger than today and dude has not matured or improved his game. Good thing The Rockets drafted this guy for cheap and got to see what he has before overpaying him, some sucker can give him a chance if they think Green has any upside lol... There is plenty of lottery talent on The Rockets anyways.....
No. You don’t have to make the call in advance. Ideally maybe you know during year 4 but making the call in advance is crazy and you are just wrong. Im disappointed in him but Im going to wait till we have a real pg, coach and culture to judge.
calling people crazy over people wanting to make decision on jalen green earlier is a sign you still overrate him a lot...you acting as if hes a 3 times nba champion...lolol crazy is wasting resources, running your team and basketball experience for years when you dont have to...you will lose sengun and other gems trying to make jalen green work..so you have to make that decision earlier i am not saying get rid of him now but at least get a new coach for him right now! rockets acting as if silas is worth 50 FRPs lolol
Op really do want to take the title from booby with the shttiest knee jerk take about green. We have like 3 more seasons b4 even coming to that conclusion.
I watched the replay of the game last night knowing they were gonna get smoked and that's still less depressing than how many people on clutchfans really think a 20 year old should be playing like a HOF bound veteran.
you acting as we already dont have sengun a superstar! and jalen isnt dragging him down to get drowned together you acting as if we have a genius coach to develop young players you trade jalen for something valuable and keep building around sengun perhaps we even make a run this year or next year at a title...this is called competing...
Im very disappointed in him but only allocate about 30% of the blame to him. We invested the #2 pick. He still has elite physical traits. If halfway through year 4 he is averaging 25/5/4 and playing below average defense, then yea im picking up the option and going from there. Im not pre-determining maxing him or trading him depending on how he finishes 2023-2024. No need to do that. Also, you need to keep in mind that you and I are mostly aligned. I expect Sengun will be a top 20 player by end of 2023. Im not worried about alienating the non Alpe players and Alpe and Green seem to jive. One of them (likely Sengun) needs to become an above average defender.
He is an excitable player. The rare clutch plays that he makes, he goes bananas. I want him to win some and get used to making plays without the celebration. This is when we can truly evaluate his future. Next year is key.
Realistically, we don't know who if any of the current Rockets will be super stars. We have an idea of who could be and they are exactly the same as a year ago. Green, Sengun, Smith Jr and KPJ...... Those are your potential stars/super stars. It could also be none of those names and someone no one really saw coming like Tari. With that said, we aren't competing for a title. We didn't win a title with a top 10 talent in Harden and a stellar cast of supporting players including Chris Paul so no we aren't winning $hit with a young team full of rookies. The Rockets aren't even worried about player development, because why? Why would they want a young break out Sengun or Green? How could a super star Sengun or Green actually benefit The Rockets? By putting us in a position to pay large amount's of money early or having the league throw millions of cash at them to join their teams? The timing has to be right for everything to work in Houston, if they can land Wemby or another top talent while maintaining high potential future stars then that's ideal for what Rockets are actually striving for.
It’s the nuanced and well rounded takes on clutch fans which make it worth coming back to. Dynamite stuff.
if we only didnt even tank for him...we could have only sengun and develop him properly... now when you have green you have to constantly hold back sengun in order to keep the face of jalen green and prevent him looking like a gigantic bust
