Dude, I just thought they mostly moved on not "moved on" moved on.

BBS is technically web 1.0000 and the broken ads aren't helping things.

How do you feel about the possibility that DeSantis' Florida may soon require girls to report their periods to compete in athletics?

Seems like a terrible idea and again, giving the government way too much power into privacy. I'm not so sure giving this man more power is the best of ideas.

Ron is or was when useful a full fledged member of the Stop the Steal Gang.

I read about this before, it is propaganda.

How is it propaganda? They are literally considering this, where before it was an option the discussion in Florida is that it should be mandatory.

It also says DeSantis has nothing to do with it.

There was some other discussion about it; that question has been on those health forms for a long time, long before DeSantis took office.

It's his state. He has every thing to do with it and if they go forward with it people will blame him unless he visibly put up a fight to stop it. That's how this works as he is the governor. How many things do you put on Biden that he has nothing to do with? Anything that happens in Florida, he has to address and weigh on. If he wanted to stop this, he could throw out his opinion which has a crap ton of weight around there.

He appointed people on that board...
So yes, if they go forward with this, it'll be with DeSantis' blessing unless he says otherwise and so far hasn't.

The problem isn't the question being on the form, the problem is making it mandatory.

This seems like a made up "problem" to try and smear DeSantis. I don't give a damn about some questions on some form, and neither does the majority of the voters (who just voted him back in again with a clear majority).

I mean clearly you do not care (since it doesn't affect you I guess) but many girls that want to participate in school sports obviously would care as it would negatively affect them. I would think you would care about those girls and how they feel about it.

Hiding behind the majority is weak, you know it, the majority can sometimes crush what a minority group would want. History has shown that time and time again.

And people are so selective about the majority, they don't care about what the majority of black people want but will find one black person that aligns with their cause and ignore the majority any ways. This is why it is a logical fallacy. The majority CAN be wrong. The majority once thought black people had it good in the 1900s.

    Sigh.

First of all, it doesn't come from DeSantis.

Secondly, it's supposedly something that's based on national guidelines.

Thirdly, I agree with you that these questions are stupid and invasive, but using the fact that an independent board is discussing making questions mandatory which have been around for 20 years to smear DeSantis is just silly.

First. We discussed that Desantis has power on the board making these decisions, don't ignore that point. He put someone on the board that then hired others on the board that are all weighing these decisions. He is the governor, anything good in Florida he takes credit for and anything bad he takes the fall for, that's how politics work. It's not fair in that way but that's how it works. Truth is, like I said, he has a lot of weight down there. If he made an effort to stop this, it would be stopped.

Secondly, the question nationally is optional. Florida is making it mandatory. Yes, the national guideline is there for physicians.

Thirdly, no it isn't just silly. This is how discrimination starts, it hides behind forms and bureaucracy, it should always be challenged and they shouldn't even be asking this question. That's why I asked how you felt about it because there is no argument that can be made in favor of this that doesn't sound draconic. We don't worry about when and where women have their periods in 2023. That crap should be between them, their doctors, and anyone they want to tell for whatever reason. The effect this question would have on young female athletes is nothing but negative. It in no way does anything positive for them and if it is no big deal, like you claim, why the discussion to make it mandatory?

Not going to cite the article, which I have forgotten, but they said that Trump is starting to attack Desantis over his original politics, when briefly in the US Congress. In those days which he tries to hide Ron spoke and wrote in favor of attacking Medicare and Social Security, which when all is said and done most of the working class right wingers, the GOP elitist like to appease w cultural issues, still like and depend on.

Ron has not spoken to any media other than conservative for over two years, but he won't be able to hide forever from his elitist economic policies.

And to think millions of people supported him and still do. Just like the people on this board who say "I don't support Trump" while conveniently leaving out the words "now" or "any longer". The same ones who will vote for him if he is the nominee.

It's a trade-off, I guess. In a two party system, you will never agree with everything the leadership of the party at the time stands for. If economic decisions are most important for people and they don't care about the character of the leader of the party that represents their economic interests, they will still vote for that party/that leader. A lot of people might just look away and say "oh well, it won't be that bad".

I don't have a vote in this country, but in Germany, I did struggle when I voted because I basically disliked something about every party. Sometimes you end up voting for the party that most aligns with the things you most care about, even if you think their current leaders are morons.
