Not to mention one in the Super Bowl.

That’s only if you consider Hurts a Bama product

He spent the most time there. Got most of his coaching there. His girlfriend is from there. He still feels very strongly tied to Alabama. It’s not the same situation that Burrow had where he barely played at Ohio State.

Right. But his best season was with Oklahoma and that’s where he was drafted from.
I wouldn’t say Bama developed him, Oklahoma got more out of him

He developed every year he was in college. Even he credits Alabama coaches for development. Obviously Oklahoma got more out of him, but he would have never got there without losing to his competition at Alabama.

He actually regressed every year at Bama

Three years playing football and a degree. Not hard to say he is a Bama product. He went to OU at the encouragement of Saban.

No he didn’t. He just got beat out by a better passer who was a better passer while Hurts was at OU and is still a better passer today. As the other poster stated, Hurts has continued to improve every year.

Numbers say different, his best year was his freshman year. I know you Bama boys like to claim every player that goes through the school is Bama product.

But fact remains, Hurts probably isn’t drafted if he doesn’t go to Oklahoma.

    And?
Saban didn’t get the most out of him.

Totally untrue. Have to be pretty naive to believe Hurts had a magically transformation being in the OU program for less than six months. Hate to break it to you but he spent three times as much time in the Bama program as he did at OU. Might want to check out the gear he wears at practice.

Just simply he got beat out by a better player. I will let Jalen speak for himself

“I have graduated from the University of Alabama with my bachelor’s degree in public relations — and I couldn’t be prouder. This accomplishment means so much to me.

But the education that I received at Alabama goes beyond a degree. Coach Saban taught me the values and principles of business, as well as what it takes to be a great leader. My teammates taught me the importance of togetherness, brotherhood, and love. And this past season……. it taught me a lifetime’s worth of lessons about how to deal with adversity.

Now, I’m an alumnus of the University of Alabama.

Now I’m Bama for LIFE — and that right there will never change!”

Not untrue. Hurts got a lot better as a passer and processor under Oklahoma coaching.

He absolutely regressed every year he was at Bama. That’s just facts. Being beat out by Tua doesn’t mean he progressed and Tua magically beat him out.

He can be Bama alum. Doesn’t mean he’s a Bama football prospect.
Saban may have taught him valuable life lessons, but he was a better football player under Riley

Again, we disagree. Getting beat out by a better player doesn’t mean you have regressed. It means there was a player better than you. Happens all the time.

He was better under Riley after having the foundation laid by Saban.

Personally I don’t think it matters one bit. Mahomes and Burrow should never have been drafted had school been a major factor.

He is lucky, he is claimed by both schools which is fair since his time at both have led to where he is.

Absolutely and watched every play he made during his three years as well as his games with OU. Have yet to meet a Bama fan that wasn’t pulling for OU in 2019 because of Jalen.
