I’d be pissed if they drafted Stroud. Would set this franchise back further and ruin Meco chances at success

Personally, I want us to draft a QB.

But I’m all-in on DeMeco. He’s the guy. Whatever he wants to do, and whoever he wants to draft are cool with me.

Well that’s just running in quicksand. No qb no chance. Until you make an effort to upgrade that position then you’re not serious about winning.

I have not been optimistic, in years. Color me excited for the first time in a long time...............this just feels like the perfect match and the fact he WANTS to be here speaks volumes

Just heard a Western media radio guy say the funniest thing. "The Texans, yes that dumpster fire backed its way into a great situation. They found the perfect fireman for the dumpster fire."

Young is the only QB option. Stroud will bust. Levis has upside but probably won’t reach it.

If Young isn’t there, don’t force a QB

The 49ers are proof that isn’t true. Build from the trenches and a decent QB can make you relevant for years. If you don’t think Young or Stroud are franchise QB’s no way you draft them at 1-2. On the other hand, if the Texans truly think they are special then take one of them, but don’t do it just to appease the fans.

    Random question,

Has Stephen A Smith said anything about the DeMeco hire?

    I can do it!

    610: How are you, Nick?

Caserio: Words words words words words words football Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words football Words words words words words words Words words words words words words Words words words words words words (this goes on for 20, 30 minutes....)

610: Well, that's all the time we have. Nick, thanks for joining us and saying a whole lot while managing to not actually say anything because it's obvious you're a dullard desperate to sound smart and so you just talk incessantly, hoping no one catches on to how remarkably average you are,

    (I'm paraphrasing)

I agree with that as well. I think I'd take a chance on two or maybe all three of the top 3. If they disagree, I'm okay with that. I'd just be a little disappointed as a fan trying to get back into the team.

They got the DeMeco Ryans hire right. On multiple levels. Also, on multiple levels, they got the Culley & Lovie hires wrong. These two ideas can mutually exist.

Hiring DeMeco Ryans - which, again, was a terrific choice - does not suddenly wash away two years of extremely poor choices in which they either didn't recognize or didn't care about the very obvious racial implications of those choices.

By hiring DeMeco, and creating this amount of buzz & excitement... I think it buys them the ability to pass on a QB if they don't like one at 2 because DeMeco is going to have the trust of the fans, and it'll be easy to sell Anderson or Carter as true gamechangers he'll be able to build his defense around.

With any other head coach, the QB at 2 becomes, I think, more essential to rebuilding the fan base. But DeMeco is no ordinary hire, and I think the fans are going to give him A LOT of rope and aptience.

Why do you think so little of Stroud? You talk about him likes he’s the worst qb ever but almost every scout has him rated high.

I love Young as the next guy but man that size and weight is a big red flag

    I agree with that.

My issue is that I'm jaded by Mario Williams and Clowney having a shelf life that didn't survive their rookie contracts. Is that really going to change the team the way a quarterback would.

Also, with the Spencer Rattler example, coupled with the fact that we could potentially have to give up quite a haul to move up for a decent quarterback next year.

Signing a Derek Carr to a 4 year deal is just a band aid that hamstrings your overall ability to bring in a quantity of quality talent.

I do, however, feel like we finally have a cohesive group that will work to build this team in the best way. Something we haven't seen since Kubiak and Rick Smith. Because of that, I should trust them.

The kicker of it all being this: say we draft a quarterback, but we still only won 3 or 4 games. Now we're in prime position to trade down and assure that we have multiple first round picks for another 2 or 3 years.

Physically he has no upside. He is absolutely terrible under pressure, with elite talent around him. If you watch his games, majority of his throws are against air. I don’t like his crew-at all. And I don’t like the history of Ohio St QBs

I agree. But to me he’s still the only option at 2
