After tonight Jokic is averaging a 25 ppg triple-double on 70 TS % and a 2.8 A/TO ratio Guy is about to 3peat MVP I'm fcking shaking right now this is sick Witness a legend kids
This is probably the best Denver team Jokic has had. Much better on the defensive end as a team and guys have seemingly settled into their actual roles. Not sure about an actual title but very deep run into the conference finals should be the expectation
I love his reaction. Chris Broussard should be his number one fan. The man could not get off Westbrook's nuts when he averaged a triple double.
This is what the analytic stat era wanted, now live with it. Kobe would be averaging over 40ppg right now adjusted for pace and the media would be hyping that as much as the Westbrook triple double season and Kobe would get MVP now as a 7th or 8th seed. We already got that triple double season from Russ, so who cares if Jokic is on year 3 after b2b MVP and now averaging a triple double and you can only say he can't be MVP because he already won 2 despite he's now better than both those previous seasons. Want to use playoff success excuse? Well you did it for Harden. And where's Oscar Roberstons racist ass to hype up Jokic on how hard it is to do this? Even though so many players are throwing out triple doubles and 40/50/60/70 pt scoring nights left and right in this inflated stat era, the same as Oscars era. Silver let the NBA become nothing more than a fast paced pick up game. First to 140 wins.
The last time they were fully healthy, they went to the conference finals. They have matured a few years since then. Murray seems to have gone back to 100% now. Barring from injuries, they should be the favorite in the West. The West doesn't have a lot of teams you can call elite like in the past.
yeah the top of the west standings has literally flipped from what were used to seeing in recent years. Perhaps the GS, clips, phx (when they're back full healthy) can flip the switch after the AS break and get back to what we've seen they can be. It seems now they're fine with managing to stay in the middle of the pack while trying to keep their guys healthy as much as possible. You can tell when a team is in a good place as a unit. That's what Denver has shown this year, I like the way they're playing.
Denver's roster has been absolutely unlocked, at this point. In years past, you saw Monte Morris, Will Barton, an inconsistent/injured Murray and an Aaron Gordon who was unsure of his overall role on the team. That roster was already good enough to be a second rounder / WCF participant. Out goes Morris and Barton, and in comes Bruce Brown and KCP - two players who know their roles and more importantly, are maximized when Jokic is playmaking. And then you have Murray who seems very close to 100% (both physically and psychologically), an Aaron Gordon who knows how to complement Jokic extremely well and MPJ, one of the best 3P shooters in the league who can score with the best of them. And then you also have guys like Uncle Jeff, Braun, Hyland and Nnaji, to round out the team. No one is a ballhog, no one's body language is bad when another teammate gets the ball instead of them and everyone moves and cuts and does everything unselfishly. Watching their games, it's pretty close to Spurs basketball circa 2014.
Jokic vs Embiid is the only real mvp debate imo Yeah, I don't think people realized how many injuries they have had over the past few seasons. This team was just waiting to get healthy, and now its their time. Not winning the West this year would be a huge disappointment for them imo. Bones Hyland was a huge draft hit, let them consolidate some of that depth they've always had for a true 3&D, perfect fit player. Plus they are good at developing within the organization. I think 1 more bench piece would be nice for them to add heading into the playoffs. Someone like Eric Gordon would round out their rotation well, actually.
ah if only we drafted a similar player or traded for somebody similar to this guy! but wemby wemby something something...lolololol
