Crazy that Dre and Cushing both said they wouldn’t say no if Demeco asked them to be part of the staff, heard Shaub on 610 saying he wouldn’t say no either. No idea if any of them would be great coaches but it’s nice to see them showing excitement at the possibility.

This type of picture is what was missing from Culley and Lovie's hiring. I'll never say a bad word against Lovie but this picture makes this moment feel more genuine

Jonathan Joseph and Mark Ingram said the same.

If he's got former players saying that, he should be able to recruit some free agents

If the Texans now become a winning organization I'm already on board for calling her the puppet master behind Cal's success.

    J. Jo said the same thing and I actually think all of them, especially Cush and J. Jo, would be great. It might sound crazy but I think Schaub would make an excellent qb coach. I think Dre is better suited for the front office, great players rarely have the empathy or the patience to teach. That's not a knock on Dre, I'm sure he gives great technique advice but I don't think he's a day-in day-out type of dude

You going to be mad if he says he’s rolling with Mills or a vet like Carr/Garropolo?

I'd be pissed if we were rolling with Mills , too. Less pissed with Carr or Garropolo. I think we should just draft a QB and hand over the reigns to him and say here you go kid, do better than 3 wins.

I will be a little bit upset. Mainly because we need a long term vision. A vet definitely doesn't represent that vision.

If we roll with Mills, we're putting a lot of eggs into the next year basket. And that's a basket that may not be there.

Now is the time to build the future. While you have the second pick. Get your quarterback now. If you like one.

It's amazing how this hire has seemingly rejuvenated the franchise top to bottom. Look at how excited all of the former guys are about the hire and are interested in being involved. During the Easterby/BOB days it felt like there was an alienation of players and they actually tried to distance themselves from the franchise. Remember JJ Watt asking for his release, remember Andre Johnson saying publicly that the Texans waste careers.

Demeco will either succeed or he will fail, but at this moment in time, you can't ask for a better head coaching hire decision than this.

That last part is the issue, if he doesn’t like one I don’t want him to be forced into one

Theres 0 chance he’s rolling with mills as a starter for good reason. As long as he drafted Bryce or stroud I wouldn’t mind a bridge qb like Jimmy for a year.

Not a guarantee. Depends on the OC.
What if he doesn’t draft a QB this season and waits?
