He's not right now, but that doesn't mean he couldn't develop into one. It won't happen in Chicago though, bc that's literally never happened. I don't think I would do that trade, but there is a good chance you wouldn't be able to draft a better QB prospect at 12 than Fields.
Jaxon Smith Njigba is probably worth it there. Kayshon Boutte will be a steal, probably ends up going early 2nd, maybe late first.
Yeah yeah and Lamar Jackson should probably switch to receiver in your eyes I'm sure. I'm not high on Fields as a passer or in developing into an actual good QB, but it's pretty mind blowing when I see people write off young QBs as if they can never improve, ever.
Don’t start with that stupidity, take your feelings out of it. Lamar is a far more advanced passer than Fields and it’s not even close. Even then, Lamar isn’t an elite passer. Very good but still needs help scanning whole fields
For some reason Brian Kelly didn't use him correctly, it was a weird situation. He has way better hands than the drop rate would suggest. Also, Jayden Daniels is an absolutely terrible passer, so some of the stats may be a bit misleading.
Don't disagree with that. The point is that I find it weird to completely write off a QB developing after 2 years, especially one with the physical skills that Fields has and especially since you are so keen on physical skills that we are acting like Blaine ****ing Gabbert is the white Bo Jackson with a cannon. That being said, I would bet nearly anything that Fields won't develop bc he plays football in Chicago, which is a complete death sentence to any QB.
No one is saying Gabbert is some elite QB, but only a fool would deny he is an elite athlete. Same as Fields. Neither are good QBs
It's not the same though. Justin Fields, as limited as he is as a passer right now, runs marathons around anything Blaine Gabbert has ever done at any level except maybe high school. Did you actually watch Gabbert play in college or in the NFL? Were you old enough to process what you saw?
Lmao, I’m sure I’m older than you kiddo. Let’s not go down that path. I didn’t like Gabbert as a prospect, but I’m not denying his physical gifts. Anyone who does, doesn’t know athleticism
I've been trying to tell them but they won't listen to reason. Fields would get this team out the gate immediately.
Blaine Gabbert ran a 4.66 at the combine. He’s about the same speed as Deshaun Watson, which makes him a great athlete especially for a bigger QB, but nowhere near the elite level that Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson, and Anthony Richardson are. They all run under 4.5 most likely.
Correct, but at that size it is elite. That’s also not factoring in his explosion testing. 6.84 cone and 33.5 inch vert are ridiculous at that size
I'm not going to debate age on here, that's ridiculous, but some of your comments made me think you might have been in junior high watching Blaine Gabbert play college ball, bc I just don't see what you're seeing. Guess I "don't know athleticism" bc I don't think Blaine Gabbert's physical "gifts" were all that special. Makes sense.
Then don’t debate age. But no, I’ve been a grown man a long time, I saw him play in college and pros-as a grown man who works in athletics. Again, no one is saying he is a good QB. But he is a freak athlete
Okay, but this is the problem. Great, Gabbs ran a 4.66, about the same as Deshaun Watson. So he tested well. Does anyone in their right mind actually think that Gabbert is a fast as ****ing Deshaun Watson, or for that matter, does anything think Davis Mills is??? These numbers are extremely misleading. Jerry Rice 4.7 blah blah blah
Well you sure are putting in an effort to prove it... on a message forum. Blaine Gabbert, the athletic freak.
