So, I’d definitely give the MIL pick. But would they consider “the equivalent” to be KMJ? If not, would you consider giving up Jabari? I think I would.
A banger for all the fans eager to get some really mediocre vets who can teach the young guys how to play, help set a locker room culture, and maybe barely fill on-court needs sometimes in very limited minutes. Gordon, Nwora to Suns Crowder to Bucks Saric(waived), G.Hill, Ibaka and 2nds to Rockets Waive Nix and or Fernando Green / Hill / Washington Porter / Mathews / Christopher Martin / Tate Smith / Eason / Garuba Sengun / Ibaka / Boban Hear me out, if we are trading EG (and we should for his sake, and positional crowding) it means we will be sending quite literally the ONLY person on our team who has experience as a legitimate rotational NBA player (aside from the experience our clown show worst in the league team of the last 3 seasons). These guys Hill and Ibaka are old as balls and probably can't walk without limping BUT have serious experience as legitimately good NBA starters on real contending teams with lots of playoff experience, still in great shape to be elite teachers, who aren't as far removed from the game as... John Lucas. Hey Smith, Sengun, and Garuba learn a thing or two from this 3x 1st team defense big man in Serge Ibaka who's won a ring. Maybe better than taking pointers from the loveable but career 5mpg giant Boban or the distinguished lob threat Fernando. Hey Green, Porter, Washington, and Christopher learn a thing or two from one of the best 2-way high IQ all-rounded guards of the previous decade in George Hill who developed under Pop. MAYBE better than taking turns bouncing the ball off of Nix's forehead in practice? And if not this trade with these players, for the love of god hopefully some other players. It feels like Stone is the type of guy to send his kids to a school with no teachers. Bring in some vets who won't require real minutes with experience at the positions of developmental value for our key prospects.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +3.6 ppg, +11.1 rpg, and +4.7 apg. If Rockets were to fall to the 5th spot in the draft, what do you think the best player we could get in return in a trade? *Note: I'm not advocating for a trade, just a thought
Can you believe that he's younger than Tate? That seems insane to me lol. I don't really think he has any room to get better though.
I think by far, the biggest gem available right now that fits our timeline is OG Anunoby. He's probably the best perimeter defender in the league and has shown tons of offensive upside when given the chance. Has also played in the finals already while still just being 25. I'd be willing to give a lot for OG. As much as 3 1sts (Mil and 2 of the earlier Bkn ones) and any non Sengun, Jalen, Jabari players they want. Tari would hurt but if that's what it'd take I'd do it.
Siakam, Anuoby or less likely Barnes. Should all be targets. Wish we had the ammo and contracts to bring in both Siakam and Anuoby. Eason+Garuba+Washington+Gordon+Bucks pick+Nets picks in 24 and 26 for Siakam works for me.
I like OG , but I'm not sure we are in a good place to add him right now #1 how does he change our lottery odds #2 Is OG's ceiling a true #1 or 2 on a title team? #3 is our team even ready to win more than like 30-35 games next year ? When we cashed in assets for harden he was younger than OG, and our team around him was much better . Og will demand big money soon right ? Now if we get OG , bring harden back , and nab Victor that would be pretty sick Harden OG ? Victor Sengun Jabari may yet be great . You'd have OK depth with tate and Tari, kpj , green and garuba If you get OG you have to land another top fish. Can't be paying OG and young core with low winning expectations
Ray Allen was traded for pick 5 at one stage?? So a 7 time all star who went on to play 3 more all star games (That's the best possible level player we could get in return!) As far as current players. Completely impossible to know- would need to wait and see where teams are at after the finals. Pick 5 has a fair amount of value if a team sees a player they truly believe in, and perhaps want to restart and rebuild
OG isn't a star. He's just 25 so I'm not gonna say that he'll never be one but right now he can't carry a team. He's a role player and honestly might be the absolute best one in the league. While that's not enough to be the 1st or 2nd best player on a championship team, that goes a long, long way. I personally don't believe we have anyone at that level right now but when we do, we're gonna need someone like OG. We don't really have to worry about lottery odds. This team isn't bad, it's horrible. It's gonna take a lot more than OG to make us good. The trade is just to set the foundation for our future star, wherever he may come from. Yes, I proposed giving up 3 1sts, but they're 3 crappy firsts, the type of which brought us Jaygup, Garuba and Tyty over the last 3 years and honestly I don't really care about this guys.
