Gary Bird

Just a friendly reminder to all Rocket fans, Gary Bird is currently more efficient than Green, KPJ, Smith, Eason, Gordon, Tate, JC, Tyty, Nix

He is tied with Bruno, and Sengun KJ and Garuba are the only 3 players with higher TS percentages on the team.

I hope we move EG to a contender at the deadline and give Gary more playing time. Young players need spacing to grow, they need teammates who are off-ball offensive players willing to put in effort and energy on D. That is the Bird.

 

And he seems to draw at least one charge a game. Those are better than a block, and almost as good as a steal. He’s not great, but he’s serviceable. At his price, I’ll take it.

 

I read in another thread that the head coach is prejudiced against sturdy dudes. so no way this gonna happen

Idk who came up with that nickname, but it’s a disgrace to Larry Bird.

 

I would call him Gary Turkey but is not as catchy.

 

Despite being currently the better player, GM (and Nix) should never, ever be playing over players like Christopher. GM will only ever be a fringe role player on an OK team. Christopher, as atrocious as he has been this season, is still young enough that there is a chance for him to develop his talents. Additionally, not only is GM a wretched defender, he is also one of the dumbest players on offense. All he knows is to immediately shoot the ball the moment it gets passed to him. 4ft from the 3pt line? Shoot it. Early in the shot clock? Shot it. Guy flying at him? Shoot it. Guy plays offense literally with a single braincell. Some like to talk about his hustle and putting his body on the line for charges. Here is the thing though, that is all he can do and he cannot afford to NOT do it or he will wash out of a team that is TANKING. He does those things because he is not physically capable of doing anything else at the NBA level.

 

Don't forget he's only 26. People are treating him like a finished product. How many 26-year-olds can be as efficient as legendary Boban?

I like Garrison, but as a spark plug type player kinda how Scotty Brooks was the Rockets spark plug off the bench back in the day. 7th or 8th man.
