No problem and that's a really mature qay of approaching it. I know that when one of my frat brothers came out it really opened my eyes. Agree on the politcal aspect. The far left has really affected a lot of people's thinking because it's often a bunch of spoiled rich white kids thinking that that they need to play heroes when in reality they do the most damage and help nothing. Yes, the right wants to pretend they don't exist which is awful. Hopefully we do get there but Trump and Biden have divided our society so much.

First, you don't actually know that you have no experience with a transgendered person. I appreciate that you admit you don't understand it and are naïve about the subject. But that comes from your next statement that "It just seems weird", You're preventing yourself from learning and having a betting understanding because you think it's icky and something that you have to shield yourself and your children from.

Do you see that your last comment there is actually quite hateful? There is no danger to your children. There's no reason for you to run and hide should you encounter one. Don't go to events or bars where they might hang out. But should you see one at your local Walmart, there is no danger to you or your children. You have nothing to fear except your own prejudices.

I do wish you would look at your own posting history when you're saying that it's unfortunate certain posters don't want to have actual conversations. "Dumbocrats", "Demonrats", etc., etc., etc. doesn't exactly make one want to engage with you in a serious manner.

It was a rough explanation. Using suicide rates would work better.

You didn't have the amount of depressed and suicidal kids regardless of whether or not they identify as this or that.

With all do respect my wife and I can choose how we raise our children. That's our job and how we teach them values. I don't agree with that lifestyle but I don't wish harm on them for transgender people living their lives. Just not for us.

I don't agree with the Democrats. Look at all the hate myself and a few other Republicans here receive. I don't see you criticizing them. You are entitled to your political beliefs but we literally have people defending Biden and Kamala Harris who are two of the worst in history. Notice that I always criticize Trump as well. We get called all sorts of names. Hold your side accountable as well

Clutch doesnt delete old comments. We know your posting history. We know all the threats u make and all the insults you make about things like being losers for not having a kid or saying someone is ugly.

Like why? Why bother? No one buys it even people who agee with your views? Do you see how pathetic you look acting as victim.

The boy in this video is who you sound like now:

How do you know? You're making a statement of certainty when the nature of being "closeted" would rule out any certainty.

In a free society you can disagree with the lifestyle. You can not want them around your children. That doesn't change that they exist and chances are you and/or children will encounter them at some point or the other. My main point is that living in the society that we do is that we will deal with people we don't agree with. Who we probably feel are immoral but it is how do we live with them?

I think acknowledging that LGBTQ people exist even at an early age is important as much as acknowledging that there are people who have different religious and political views.

Here are things you can incorporate in the way you consume media to help you determine credibility.

Is the account of the person only expressed in the article by one person? Is there a corroborating prisoner who matches her story?

Is there any specific over the top statements that might make it seem like the individual is looking for clout? For example, in the article she expressed fear that if she misgendered her sentence would be extended. Seems like right wing excessive victimhood. This is something that simply would not happen. But it creates a feeling of victimhood for anyone who agrees with her view.

Also, given the fact that there is strong media coverage of a current convicted violent criminal in the country being trans and having this massive debate I can only imagine there would have to exist some documented media coverage for these claimed two trans prisoners she was worried about especially since it's the worst type of prisoners, murderer and domestic violence. So I would imagine the uproar then.

I've never encountered one in my lifetime but it's possible that my children will. As I said earlier I don't teach them to be disrespectful to them or wish them harm. I just don't agree with that lifestyle and don't want it around them. My children can choose their political views when they want. They both seem to enjoy church but if they didn't I certainly wouldn't force that on them at all. That said, a man putting on a dress or vice versa with a woman is not normal whatsoever. That's much different than having an opinion on religion or policies that are going to effect you financially. I don't see any similarities to those and transgender people. I already have said that my wife and I support gay rights so it's not like we don't have any issues with that. Just a big no to transgender. I'd rather just be honest than pretend to respect that type of lifestyle

Again. I don't want my children around that stuff..Of course they exist but that doesn't mean I have to engage with them nor teach my children that that is acceptable. It's a horrible and unhealthy life

    You a church going man?

What does Jesus think about telling women they are failures because they don't have kids?

Another thing. From my experience reading articles, any reputable publication usually when they publish a story that has one individual's account and only that one individual they will explicitly mention something along the lines of "we reached out to individuals who were inmates in the same prison at the same time as her and none came forward". Something along those lines. A publication that doesn't even address it usually means they don't care about basic things like corroborating stories and rather just push a story they think will make their core viewership engaged.

I read this article several times. I'm trying to see the part where she was actually raped by a transgender person. I'm sure most people are afraid of being raped in prison. I'm sure women are afraid of being raped by women and men are being afraid of being raped by men too.

Ya that's another thing. If trans women in the women wing of a prison is a sincere problem, then the go to stories to express that concern would be you know....

Actual examples of women being raped by trans women in prison the core fear these people claim. Like just use those stories? Why can't they just use those examples to express their concerns. If I was trying to convince someone of something bad happening I would give the most poignant egregious examples to prop up my point.

They put biologically male rapists in a female prison.

It's more than reasonable for women there to be spooked and it shouldn't take rape allegations after the fact to consider why it's a terrible idea.

Such a weird and twisted debate.

Isla Bryson case: Movement of violent transgender prisoners paused
There will be a "pause" on transgender prisoners with a history of violence against women being placed in female jails in Scotland, Justice Secretary Keith Brown has announced.

He said an "urgent review" into the case of a trans woman convicted of raping two women before changing gender will also be carried out.

There was a public outcry when Isla Bryson was initially remanded to Cornton Vale women's prison.

She was later moved to a men's jail.

Further concerns were raised by the case of Tiffany Scott, previously known as a man called Andrew Burns, who had an application to move to a women's prison approved.

She has a history of violence and is serving an order for lifelong restriction, meaning she will only be released when she is no longer considered an "unmanageable risk to public safety".

Critics argued vulnerable women prisoners, many of whom were victims of male violence, were being placed at risk.

Justice Secretary Keith Brown said the "urgent lessons learned review" into the Bryson case would be completed by Friday.

The prison service was already undertaking a wider review of its transgender policy, which will continue.

Until that ends, Mr Brown said:

    • No transgender person already in custody with a history of violence against women will be moved from the male to female estate
    • No newly convicted or remanded transgender prisoner with any history of violence against women (including sexual offences) will be placed in the female estate.
Any exceptional cases will require the approval of Scottish ministers, he said.

Prison violence between prisoners of th same genders is a problem. That is a bigger problem regarding prison conditions. That's why there are things like solitary and supermax. This seems a rather extreme issue to be arguing against transgendered people. I mean are we supposed to be basing how we treat minority groups based on what happens in prison?

Should racial prison gangs be considered an argument for segregation?

It's absolutely absurd to put a biological male in a female prison. That's just ridiculous.

I would support the argument to keep pre-op transgendered in the prison of their pre-op gender but I really doubt this is much of a problem.

The transgender population is still very small compared to the rest of the population and the amount of criminal transgender a small part of that.
