This is a mistake that Americans when they've become more isolationist make. Yes something that happens in my nieghborhood more directly affects me than what happens in Ukraine that doesn't mean that what happens in Ukraine will have no affect on me. We've seen how much an impact inflation on food prices can have. Since Ukraine is a major grain supplier the war there has had an affect on food inflation. If Putin controls Ukraine he can manipulate food prices in addition to the sway he has on energy prices. Also because of preexisting treaty obligations Putin taking Ukraine and threatening Poland and other NATO countries will lead to greater military spending to try to shore up those countries. It might lead to positioning many US troops there as a deterrant like during the Cold War. Rather than reducing the size of military if Ukraine falls might lead to larger growth of the US military.
Naval likes to tweet out wisdom. I remember him tweeting that the western sanction against Russia was akin to dropping a financial atomic bomb on Russia, risking all-out nuclear war.
Europe's military spending on this defense has already increased because of Putin's aggression. There is almost no chance that it would not increase drastically more if Ukraine fell to Putin's aggression. Stopping Putin's aggression now toward Ukraine is maintaining peace in Europe region that the world has enjoyed for almost 80 years now. That's what is at risk. Ukraine is the buffer to greater risk and US direct involvement. Funny that @Space Ghost posted that tweet from Naval. "Soviet civil war until the end of time" is also saying that Putin's Russia wants to win back all of the old Soviet Empire territories.
The US monetary policy and $USD touches every global corner of the world. I dont view pulling back and giving other countries options as an isolationist move. I view it more like the Gestapo/KGB being less intrusive. This is the crux of my thesis. It bothers me immensely to see 3rd world countries continually be used and abused which leads to global corruption in these regions. I view Putin as the big kid on the block being rebellious against the $USD controlled global economy. I also viewed Saddam Hussain in the same manner as he was hell bent in trading oil in $EUR.
You guys do this thing anytime we counteract your bizarre worldview with a "What If" the roles were reversed in a theoretical scenario, and like clockwork you guys just cannot fathom a bizarre theoretical scenario, and keep thinking that I am speaking literally. I said THEORETICAL..... THEORETICAL.... THEORETICAL. I'm making up a bizarre scenario TO MAKE A POINT. It's bizarre FOR THE POINT. I swear you know that, and still think you can somehow take apart my theoretical bizarre scenario. If I told you that your take on a Rockets player was as bizarre as the Rockets trading Sengun for Lebron.... you would say... Wait... there's no evidence the Lakers are shopping Lebron. Either you are very very very stupid, or just do this sh$t to try troll because you have nothing else.
Except for that Ukraine and the rest of US doesn't want the US to pull back. Most ASEAN nations want US presence in the SE Asia as a counterbalance towards what they see as PRC expansion. This is a really bizarre argument. That Putin is actually taking on USD controlled global economy by invading his neighbor and claiming he is doing so because ot the long ancestral connection between Kyiv and Russia and that Russia was strong under the USSR and should return to that strength? That it's really all about trading oil in Euros? What evidence other than your suspicion of the USD global economy do you have to support that this is really what Putin is about?
I don't think people realize how much goodwill this has brought the usa. Our troops are being treated like war heros by the local eastern Europeans and they're given flowers and hugs to our soliders. It's a beautiful thing to see our troops having positive reinforcement after decades of hostilities in middle eastern and being worried 24/7 of locals. They're being treated as saviors who are protecting the locals. It's great for morale and helps build self esteem again. The positive image and goodwill of having America being the becom of freedom triggers right wingers. They hate America.
Gaetz ****s teenagers and is involved with slavery. I am not sure why anyone asks his opinion on anything.
First, the goal is for Russian forces to leave and Ukraine to be in a position to defend themselves well. Second, most Americans are well aware that the Russian forces could remain in Ukraine for as long as Putin is alive. You can compare it to Afghanistan if you want, but it isn't Afghanistan. First, the majority of Afghans were not highly motivated to become Westernized. Second, the geopolitical location of Ukraine is very different, as is the culture and what is at stake. Perhaps Ukraine will decide it is better to live under Russian rule, who knows. Yes Russia can continue this war for a long time if they wish to do so.
Do you see Russia or anyone else attacking the USA or Germany? Poland? I don't. If you are aware of such a situation, please let me know.... thanks in advance. Following the escalation of Vietnam? No it hasn't.
Do you have any experience operating tanks? Yes, I played a lot of BattleZone growing up. And, before that, I played an Atari tank sim.
China needs to pay attention, because Russia is going down to the civilized world. We have had enough of dictators. DD
You are nuts, with all due respect, if you believe what you are posting. Now I'm remembering why I had you on ignore the last couple of years.
