100% agree. That being said it’s much riskier to go QB at the top of this draft. The odds are much higher one of, if not both, the defensive guys is more impactful.

What makes you think we’ll be in position to get one of those quarterbacks next year?

For argument sake, let’s say the next draft is 3-5 QB’s deep to get a guy comparable to Stroud or Levi’s in this draft.

Not every team is drafting a QB at the top of the next draft. I’d willing to bet we’ll be in position to have a shot at on of the top three off the board next year.

By all accounts there's only one right now that's considered by most people to have higher upside than this year's QBs and that's Caleb Williams. We have nearly zero chance of picking 1st overall so it's not a reasonable decision to pass on QB this year for that remote chance.

Even if every team wasn’t drafting a qb, there’s always someone willing to trade up. They could have a better package of picks/players than us. Can’t take that gamble. That’s why so many here are upset we lost the No.1 pick this year.

That’s not true. There were several reports that Maye would go number 1 overall in this draft if he was eligible

Not based off the finish to his season when he played quality competition. Basically Sam Howell at NC.

Again, not true. But whatever you say.
Maye is better than any QB in this draft in every way. Bigger, faster, better arm, elite numbers and younger.
Deal with it or don’t, but that’s just the facts

Imagine what could have been had the Texans drafted Julius Peppers over David Carr? I’m willing to go the path of the 49er rebuild but hey, that’s me.

And you see when you don't have a QB, you don't win. Texans with JJ Watt, always held back by having No QB.

LOL....no, he wouldn't. You talk about Levis, look at Maye's last 4 games. Talk about OSU QB's in the NFL, go look at North Carolina QBs' history.

Except that prominent scouting services have said so.
Maye is a superior prospect in every way.
You keep making excuses for Stroud and his shitty performances, Maye has no one, and he put up better numbers than Stroud.

Starting to get weird how you defend Stroud and put down Levis and Maye

I would prefer to draft Hendon Hooker at the top of the second or third. Preferably the third and then see how next year plays out. Mock drafts have us picking second overall next year.

They have the Broncos taking Caleb Williams FWIW, ahead of us.

I don’t see us being better than Denver.
