Punk Music + Saxophone = Operation Ivy (well there were others like Less Than Jake and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones but Op Ivy was the best).

A few off the beaten path ones:

The great Maceo Parker on sax. They let him loose at about 3:13.

    Sting on the sax.

Sax was big in early, early proto-rock. I can imagine another universe where Eddie Van Halen is knows for his blistering electric sax tapping technique:

I’m assuming I can’t use John Coltrane in this thread…

Outside of traditional jazz, my favorite 80s pop song that features a saxophone is Working Hour by Tears for Fears

Do full horn sections that include a sax count?

I think we've all purposefully left out jazz/blues/funk, right?

It would turn into a 5000 page thread otherwise.

That's your favorite 80's pop song? I knew you loved the band but that's a strong move.

It was the dancing at NASA that sealed it, right?

I kept out Mighty Mighty Bosstones and some other third wave Ska because they have sac but the sax isn’t featured as it’s part of the overall horn section. For a lot of ska the Trombone is more featured than the sax.
